Function Meets Fashion with Dagne Dover

bucket bag styling

I’ve really been on an organization kick lately, maybe it’s the pregnant “nesting” so when I found a bucket bag where function meets fashion I couldn’t deny it!

I’ve really been on an organization kick lately, maybe it’s the pregnant “nesting.” When I found a bucket bag where function meets fashion I couldn’t deny it! While pregnant with George I truly had that strong “nesting” feeling. We spent hours and hours organizing his nursery. This time around I’m so busy chasing him around most of the time, I haven’t really prepped in the same way. That “nesting” feeling has still been prevalent though, so I’m trying to calm it in manageable ways. First, was the planner. Now, keeping my purse more organized.

The bucket bag has been on trend for awhile now, but I never found one that had everything I was looking for to pull the trigger. This leather bag was a great neutral color, but the functionality is what sold me. The inside has a removable key leash, ID slots, lipgloss/pen loops, phone pockets, and various other pockets to keep everything organized. As you may recall from previous post, I’m NOT organized by nature. I need all the help I can get. This makes finding things in my bag so easy.

These jeans are not maternity, but I’ve been wearing them this whole pregnancy thus far. They sit below the bump and have lots of strech. Gotta keep it comfy these days. I pretty much wear a graphic tee or one of these ($20) v-neck tees everyday. They are easy and comfortable.

P.S. I’ve never worn these rose applique studded booties and not gotten complimented on them. I love that they cut low so they are cooler for summer.

P.P.S. Makeup was done by Chels Rey Makeup She does such a great job if you are looking for someone in Nashville!

I hope everyone has a great week!

I have been in full on “nesting” mode here lately. My mom, sister, and childhood best friend are graciously throwing me a shower this coming weekend, so I wanted to make sure everything was ready to prep before we head up to St.Louis for that! This Blue suede jacket was love at first sight!  It’s the perfect piece to brighten up the winter wardrobe and transition into spring. It made it easy to throw on and head out to run errands with Trey. SHOPBOP is having their BIG tier sale, perfect time to scoop up this jacket and save a few bucks on it. 😉  Most of the weekend was spent organizing, grocery shopping, and searching for baby gear. Luckily, our Nordstrom has a great baby section! We were even able to stop in at a 4D ultrasound clinic to check in with our little guy. It really puts things in perspective when I’m feeling all of the typical third trimester uncomfortable feels. Hope everyone had a happy weekend!

Third trimester is finally here!

I’ve finally hit my third trimester! I promise you.. when you feel like I have up until now, it’s something to celebrate! Looking back on my second trimester there were a few standout things that I just wasn’t expecting! First, my bump came out of nowhere one morning. I was a late bloomer to the bump club, but I swear I just woke up one morning and it was there! It was the strangest thing. Being pretty naive to all things pregnancy, I did not realize it would also have a mind of it’s own. This thing changes everyday. Sometimes it feels manageable and other days it just feels large and in charge. Some days I look like I am “carrying low” and other days it looks like I am “carrying high.” My sweet babe, also has a mind (and schedule) of his own. Some days he truly feels like he is kickboxing on my ribcage, non stop. Then there are other times, where it feels like the “butterflies” I was expecting it to feel like.

I did have much more energy in the second trimester. (Thank goodness!)  Thanks to said energy, I’ve done lots of “nesting” around our house. Not sure how productive it actually is, but I spent lots of time organizing different spaces. Sometimes it’s more of a game of musical chairs. Objects from one area end up in a different area, until I clean that area and then they just get shuffled around yet again. Keeping busy seems to help with my anxiousness of the baby arriving. So, hey, whatever works.

Actual pants, are kind of a thing of the past. I wear a few pairs if I know I’m not going to be out too long. If not, leggings or dresses it is. I loved this one because it is light and silky and allows room for that ever changing baby bump. It’s all about the comfort as I step into the home strech!
