I wasn’t prepared for how long it would take to get out the door once baby G arrived. Simple and easy is key when I have to be somewhere on time these days. (And even then, “on time” hasn’t really happened yet.) I have a new favorite basic t-shirt! It’s under $20 and comes in 8 colors. I’ve been wearing my grey one so much, I’m going to need to stock up on all the other colors too. I love the soft fabrication, relaxed fit and pocket detail. After lots of searching, I finally came across the perfect distressed skinny jean. (Bonus: these are under $100!) These have a little bit more of a slouchier fit then a typical skinny jean. If you size down, they fit more like a true skinny. For my post partum body, the slouchier fit is perfect.  You can throw on a statement necklace and make any outfit seem more put together. Squash blossom style necklaces have been a long time favorite of mine. My exact one is no longer available, but this one is nearly identical and a great price. These lace up heels are under $50 and the perfect color to go with just about anything. A full face of make- up just isn’t realistic while Georgie is still so young (aka keeping me up all night). The two absolute must haves for me have been this tinted moisturizer (with built in sunscreen) and this lip pencil. I can throw them on in a quick minute and look just a little bit more put together.

Boho Print Romper

I’ve been soaking in all the time at home I can with my new little one. I love all of his snuggles and have mostly been in sweats and comfy tops, but I was able to head out on a little walk around for Mother’s Day. I purchased this Lace Up Romper while I was still pregnant and I am so glad I did! It has all of summers hottest trends (lace up, boho print, bell sleeves) in one piece. This was worth the investment for me. So easy to put on with heels or flats and be comfy. I wore mine with these easy neutral  Booties. They come in multiple colors and are on sale for under $100! These black Ray Ban Aviators have been hiding the dark circles under my eyes. (Did I mention adjusting to the newborn no sleep schedule isn’t easy?!)

You can now get this Jennifer Haley jumbo bohemian fringe bag at Bluefly. (They have 20% off currently!)  These bags have an impressive celebrity following and were all over Coachella. I love how soft the leather is and it’s big enough for me to have Georgie’s diapers and change of clothes in as well as my things.

Meet baby G and his nursery

All of the cliche’s about the love you feel for your own baby became instantly true the moment I met my son. We are so excited to welcome baby Georgie into our family. My heart wants to explode with love every time I look into his adorable little eyes. He has been the sweetest baby so far, and I feel lucky to get to be his mom. Getting adjusted into a newborn’s schedule is hard, and you just want to be comfortable. I was able to wear the things I bought for pregnancy, like this beautiful bell sleeved blouse (and it’s on sale!) These boyfriend jeans are slouchy at the waist and more comfortable for a post partum body.

I had so much fun decorating G’s room. It was a slow process and I would do one thing at a time over the course of my pregnancy. We are so happy with the final result. My parents crafted some of the items, which makes them extra special. The whole theme derived from the teepee, which my sweet parents made. Here is a similar teepee at a great price! I placed a dream catcher over the top to add interest. The chandelier and crib are both Restoration Hardware and were such great statement pieces, that I thought they were worth the splurge. This sheepskin rug keeps the room light, and I also put the babe on it to take sweet pictures.

I knew I would be spending a lot of time in a rocking chair once the babe arrived. I wanted something oversized and comfortable, but still with some style to it. I thought the tufted back and nailhead detailing were the perfect touch. The printed blanket adds a little pop of print and is soft and great for late night feedings. These velvet curtains add some texture, but keep the room light and airy. We put a black out shade behind the curtains to make the room more comfortable and dark when he sleeps. I used rope from Michael’s to tie the curtains up. (It was under $5.) I decided to go with an inexpensive changing table and then added baskets and basket liners for easy access to his essential items and lots of extra storage.

This sweet toy box was a handmade gift from some very sweet friends of ours. It goes perfectly with the room and is such a great statement piece

This  diaper bag was perfect for our stay at the hospital. I fit all of the essentials for the babe in here and it’s nice and light. (Bonus: It’s under $50!!)

Shower Dress | Strappy Sandal | Beaded Tassel Necklace | Fringe Bag |

My awesome sister in laws and best friend threw me a second shower in Nashville this weekend, just in time for baby W’s arrival! I was so thankful to have friends and family come in town and celebrate with us. It was great to just spend some QT with everyone.  The silhouette of this boho print dress is so flattering on everyone! The designer comes out with this style every year, but when I saw the print on this I knew I had to have it. I plan to rock it over some skinny jeans this summer too, and with a cute belt post baby. I had been wanting these black aviator Ray Bans for awhile now, so I decided to treat myself to a little push present. 😉

cold shoulder sweater | denim shorts | Chunky heel sandal | bandana necklace | Handbag: www.violetrayny.com

Alright ya’ll, only four days until this little babe is here! It feels so surreal. I picked up this cold shoulder sweater for 25% off and have worn it everyday since I got it. (Eeek, I know.) It’s lightweight and so comfy. P.S. This BCBG  trend event sale is great! All their new merchandise is 25% off. I stocked up on 3 different dresses, this sweater, and the cutest summer top. (All coming your way soon!) It’s been so nice here in Nashville, I’ve been able to rock my go to denim shorts (don’t be fooled, the top button is not buttoned.) These chunky heel sandals are so comfortable, I can wear them 9 months pregnant and running errands all day. I consider that a win! This little bandana necklace is under $40, and  the perfect update to the neck bandana for this summer. I have been picking up little odd and end things to pack in the hospital bags, stocking the house up on essentials and pantry basics, and reading everything there is to read about caring for a newborn. If anyone has any suggestions for things that helped in their last few days, I’d love to hear any advice! I’m soaking up everything I can get my hands on.

Fringe Bag | Western Booties | Embroidery Dress | Best Slip Ever! | Necklace: freshieandzero.com (A local Nashville based jewelry designer)

The final days of my pregnancy are drawing near! I like to think I’ve been hanging in there pretty well, but I don’t think I will be one of those people that miss their bump. (Or being jabbed in the ribs, not being able to sleep, etc.) I’m so anxious to meet our little one and snuggle him up! As you probably already know, I’m also anti-maternity clothes. I did purchase one pair of maternity jeans, and I did get lots of wear out them! Other than that, I used the pony holder trick as long as possible for jeans, and searched for comfortable items that would also work post pregnancy. Now that it’s warm outside, dresses really come in to save the day! This embroidered dress  with fringe detailing was one of those great finds! It’s under $100 and could also be used as a cover up this summer. There is no lining in the dress, so I paired my favorite slip underneath. If you don’t have one of these bad boys yet, you need one! They don’t ride up at all. I had mine before pregnancy and there was plenty of strech to accomodate the bump. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Booties | Fringe dress | Fringe Bag

The baby bump at 351/2 weeks is in full force so I LOVED finding this strechy fringe dress on sale for $30! (It was $175!!!!!) I got the small to accomade the bump, if I wasn’t pregnant I would get the XS. It has lots of strech to it. Whenever I found this I scoured for some other little black dresses with a little something extra for under $50. I ordered three. Whoops! I found a lace with a lace up little black dress that I just couldn’t resist. I’ll save that one for after baby… I also loved the interesting sleeve detail on this $25 dollar dress. I can’t turn down a lace up dress these days. When it is $22… there was just no chance of passing up.  You can find another great fringe option here.

These booties are perfect for summer with the cut outs on the side. They are under $100 and come in 3 other colors as well. I loved this grey color  with distressed toe for spring/summer.

I have been eyeing this leather fringe bag for quite some time now. It’s been a hot ticket item with celebs like Kendall Jenner, Fergie, Megan Fox, and Kris Jenner for some time now and I know why!  It’s so well made and the leather is so soft. I have a tendancy to put everything under the sun in my purse, so the jumbo size works perfect. It also comes in a regular and a mini. It’s perfect for the upcoming festival season! It’s great that you can wear as a crossbody too. It felt like Christmas the day this beauty came in the mail!

Shopbop Friends & Family Sale

Hey ya’ll! Hope you’ve had a great start to your week. Nothing gets me more excited than a great sale! SHOPBOP is having their friends and family sale (you only have 2 more days so don’t wait!)  You get 25% off all sale and regular priced items on their site using the code INTHEFAM. This is the time I always stock up on top trends for summer. I’ve spent way more time then I would like to admit searching EVERY.SINGLE.PAGE. on the site to round up my favorites.

Here are my top trends for summer:

10.) Chokers- I love this 90’s throwback trend! Here is one that is  Velvet & Adjustable. I also like this suede wrap style.

9.) Double Buckle Belts- I couldn’t be happier this is having it’s moment. I LOVE this black with antiqued silver tone hardware style and also this cognac version.

8. Suede Dresses- As a major suede fan…I’m loving all the dresses for summer. This  Lace up mini is MAJOR. I’m also a sucker for pockets.. so I’m loving pocket version.

7.) Overalls- Pregnancy and overalls haven’t quite worked out for me.. but I purchased this white distressed short pair for as soon as my sweet babe is here. (I also scored this style for right around $100.

6.) Lace up tops-  This bodysuit lace up is one of the best buys out there! It is the perfect layering piece.

5.) Gladiators- My all time favorite ever gladiators (and I’ve tried on more than my fair share) you can shop here. Don’t worry, they are much easier to get on and off then they look! I’m also loving this shorter version and they come in black and cognac.

4.) Embroidery-print dresses- I’m all for a great print! This off the shoulder number earns ya extra credit!

3.) Speaking of Off the Shoulder…- Bold Red with embroidery, this is an attention grabber! I also love this long sleeve style that comes in white and black. The sleeves are amazing! And you can never go wrong with crochet. I also love flirty gauze style that is under $100!

2.) Espadrilles- I’ve been dying over the Chanel espardrilles, but they are quite steep. Here is a lace up style with leather detail for under $100. I also love perforated leather style and these perfect neutral suede style.

1.) Distressed boyfriend jeans- My absolute favorite look of the moment. You can shop the two I scored from this shopbop sale here and here.

Feel free to shoot me over any questions you have on the sale or any items. I spent a lot of time on their site sifting over each page, so I’m sure I can help!

ACM Awards-Vegas Trip

unnamed-52

unnamed-53

I had to wait till the last minute to book my flight out to Vegas since I wanted to make sure and get the doctors approval before I went. However, all the quick direct flights were snatched up! I knew I was going to have a long day ahead and went for comfort in my favorite travel sweatshirt. (I sized up for the bump….) The necklace is by a designer I have become obsessed with, Sarah Briggs. You can shop her handmade jewelry here.

unnamed-54

The ACM dress inspiration came from Chrissy Teigen’s baby shower dress. She wore a white Kym Ellery dress with huge bell sleeves….and a $1,650 price tag. I found a similiar look with a Black Halo dress. It has sold out, but I’ve found some great alternatives. This lace up version is a stunner, and this one has some great detailing! I paired the dress with my classic Christian Louboutin nude pumps.

Everyday Go To’s (Bump Version)

The ACM awards are this weekend, so I have been running around getting last minute things for  clients (and attempting to find a dress for myself that can fit this bump!). On these long days, comfort is key! I switch it up slightly from day to day, but there are a few basic pieces I rely on. (Psst, none of them are maternity!) I start pretty much every outfit with one of these camis. I have the nude and the black. I bought these pre-pregnancy, but they are nylon and spandex and have plenty of extra stretch.  I’m still rockin’ my same size. Bump or no bump, these are  the best basic pieces I own! I then layer that with a loose sweater or a button down worn open. (Again, these are the same size I wore pre-pregnancy.) You can wear them buttoned up when non pregnant, and I wear them open, or tied around my waist, currently. The one I have on you can find here, but I also found one by the same designer, with a similar print, that’s on sale here. Throw on some tinted moisturizer and my go to lip pencil and I’m out the door. I’ve found when life is hectic, simple fashion is best! I leave for Vegas in just a few short days and can’t wait to share all the fun stuff I have up my sleeve. 😉
