Mexican Castaway

Ruffle Swimsuit | Print Weekender Bag | Distressed Overalls | Distressed Jean Shorts | Tom Petty Tour Tee | Lace Up One- Piece | Beach Hat | Lace-Up Sandal | Green Plunge Swimsuit Bracelets: Cadyn and Charlie

Beach Make-Up/Product: Foundation (it’s water based with SPF, perfect for the beach!) Sunscreen (non chemical, and also moisturizing) Bronzer (pretty much the only “make-up” I put on my face during the trip Day/Night Cream (if you want your skin to feel like a million bucks…use this)

Neither Trey or I were feeling very well when we left for this trip, but we just didn’t want to miss out on a couple days in the sun in Mexico! We stayed at the Hard Rock Riveria Maya (it was for the Zac Brown Castaway trip.) You really can’t beat an all inclusive resort AND great music. The resort was great, the rooms are extra large and we had two balconies. One had a hammock and the rooftop one had a hot tub. I’m not really a fan of all inclusive resort style buffet’s BUT the dinners at the restaurants were great! I’d recommend the Mexican themed one. Tableside guac. Enough said.

When packing for an all inclusive trip…. simple is really best. I really like to keep it in a carry on size bag to make customs as easy as possible.

My recommendations:

Several Swimsuits- I packed this hunter green plunging one piece that was under $20, a lace up one piece that I received SO many compliments on, and an off the shoulder ruffle one that can easily go from pool side to night time.

I never go to a warm location without my favorite denim cut offs! I have a black pair as well as a light denim pair.

caftan can be worn as a swim cover up during the day, and then at night I tucked the top in to the front of some denim cut offs and wore it again. (My exact one is an old print, this is the same one in a different print.)

A big beach hat and a go to pair of sunglasses are a MUST!

For one of the nights I also brought this easy maxi dress that also doubles as a swim cover up. I didn’t end up wearing it this trip, because we stayed in one of the nights in our robes and just relaxed. BUT a must on a beach trip.

Also, to switch it up and have one item that’s not as expected I wore these cute distressed overalls with a (under $15) band tee.

As far as shoes go, I packed one pair of wedges, one pair of lace up sandals (shown in picture above) and a pair of flip flops.

AND THAT’S REALLY IT. The lighter the better on trips like this. The key is all of those items that double as swim cover up and night pieces. The ruffle top swimsuit would look great with a maxi skirt and some wedges for night too!
