Fur for the win

Ok, I will admit that it was 90 degrees when we shot this look. I am just so ready for fall I couldn’t help myself! I snagged this fur leather jacket at Hemline in Nashville. The makes such a statement, but it is also removable if you need a less dramatic look.

So lately I have been in a little bit of a rut adjusting to stay at home mom life. I spend my whole day catering to Georgie’s needs and typically forget about my own. This will always be my first priority, but at the end of the day I don’t feel like I have accomplished much else. We do travel and get out and “go” a lot as a family. However, in my normal weekday routine, I’m finding myself struggling.

When Trey comes home from work, he has so many things he was able to check off his to do list and I am left with little to talk about besides Georgie’s nap schedule. I end up using the excuse; “there just aren’t enough hours in the day.” Is that really the problem? Probably not. I think lack of direction, not lack of hours, has been the culprit of my rut.

BUT. I am ready to change this! Who is with me?! My mother has always been the queen of to-do lists. She keeps a big binder with pages of her to-do list and then thoughts for the day. A whole years’  worth may be extreme, but the idea is great. Careful thought, planning and direction lead to productivity.

I’m determined to spend more time accomplishing my own goals and dreams AND be a tending mother. Today I utilized his nap times to get laundry done and some housework AND send out emails and blog. Small start, but still a start.

Anyway, just a little food for thought. Fall is right around the corner! My next few blog posts will be dedicated to the basics you need to get you through this glorious season!

I am all about some great denim. Jackets and denim are both something I will let myself splurge on. I can justify it, because I wear them so much that the cost per wear is reasonable. (This is normal, right?) I loved these grey jeans because they are a great basic color that is still neutral, but gives a little bit of a pop. I paired it with an easy boyfriend t-shirt and these over the knee boots. (Under $100.)

Hope everyone has a great week with lots of things checked off the to-do list! 😉

Fall’s Hottest Color

Rust Cami  | Fringe Leather Bag | Open Back Booties | Bandana | Black Denim

Don’t get me wrong, I love my hometown of Nashville so much. However, I am SO.OVER. THIS.HEAT. Colorado’s weather was such a tease, that it was rough to come home. I’m a fall lover. Basic, I know. I want to eat everything pumpkin flavored, wear sweaters, watch football, and every other fall activity I can possibly do.

Since it’s still 90 degrees outside, I have to make do with wearing pumkin (rust) color camis. This is the hottest color for fall this year, and I am on board! I love that I could wear this cami now, but put it under a boyfriend style cardigan when the temps go down. I also ordered a cold-shoulder top in the same color and this silk maxi dress in the same color (and same designer) as my cami.

The bandana trend isn’t going away for fall, and I’m not mad about it. I also love to just throw one on with a plain t-shirt and jeans to run errands in. Just to add that little something extra.

My bracelet stack in this picture is Cadyn + Charlie. If ya’ll have ever run across my blog before, then you are familiar with my obsession. Great news…. she is offering my followers 25% off! This is huge! Just enter promo code: BEAUARROW at checkout.

I love that this bag looks nothing like a diaper bag, but has tons of room to stash G’s essentials. The leather is super soft and has a great whipstich detail. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of her new fall designs. The fall burgandy and emerald colors are what dreams are made of.

Now off to Alabama for the weekend to spend some time with my husband’s family.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

As a kid, my family always took our summer vacations out west into the mountains. We would drive all the way from the St. Louis area. When we FINALLY arrived we would find a stream, pull over on the side of the road and go put our feet in. I’ve been hooked to going there ever since.

When Trey and I first started dating we went on a little trip to Colorado. We drove up into the mountains from Denver, and just got to know each other and listened to music. I knew he was a keeper after the trip. It’s our “happy place.” Breathing in the mountain air takes out the stress in life.

I was SO excited to be able to take Georgie there for the weekend. Trey was gone with one of his artists’ album release the prior week, so I flew alone with G and met him at the Denver airport. (Blog post soon coming about flying alone with a baby. It can be overwhelming, but after 7 flights with G, I have learned some tricks of the trade.)

After a delayed flight and lots of airport waiting, we finally reunited with Trey and headed straight to a show. It was G’s first true concert, and where better to see it than Red Rocks?! It is such a beautiful venue. We had a great night, catching up with the Blackberry Smoke boys and them meeting the little guy.

The next day we took off into Breckenridge. Something about that mountain air must have put the baby to sleep. He slept for 5 hours that day! We walked around Breckenridge and checked out the cute little shops, got some lunch, and drank some local brew beers. It was also about 30 degrees cooler than Nashville. Perfection.

Since we both have family in Denver, we went to dinners and brunches with them. If you are heading to Denver soon then I HIGHLY recommend staying JW Marriott Cherry Creek. They were extremely accomodating of G. The hotel  is nestled in between the best shops in Denver and within walking distance of great coffee shops and restaurants. We met Trey’s aunt and uncle for dinner at True Food Kitchen. It’s a great eco-chic healthy restaurant. Get the edamame dumplings (you can thank me after.)

The next morning we met my cousin and his wife for brunch at Lola’s. It was so fun catching up with them over Mexican mimosas, chorizo gravy biscuits and the best table side guac I’ve ever had. (I consider myself a guac connoisseur.)

I can’t wait to go back!
