Stars and Snakeskin

Star Blouse | Snakeskin Booties | Faux Leather Pants | Gucci Bag | Aviators

I recently found a nanny for Georgie one day a week. I love being a stay at home mom and spending all my time with him, but I think it’s equally important to have some “me” time. Having that dedicated time to get my nails done, go grocery shopping, grab coffee with a friend or get a little work done with out little hands grabbing at the computer screen has become so precious to me.
This is the look I’ve been wearing on those days lately. In my opinion, snakeskin is a neutral. Bonus points if you mix it with a print. This star blouse is neutral enough to mix with so many different prints that it can work as a wardrobe staple go-to piece.

Extra Love This Valentine’s Day

Surprise! We’ve been keeping a little secret.. we are expecting another little one in July! Two babies in 15 months. We may be crazy. I’m so excited for Georgie to have a built in best friend! Trey’s dad and his uncle are only 11 months apart, he and his brother are 13 months and G and baby BOY two will be 15. So I guess you could say it runs in the family.

To those that know us this may not come as much of a surprise. We’ve always been on the fast route. I moved to Atlanta to be with Trey after only knowing him for 6 months, then after getting engaged and married we found out we were pregnant with G 3 months after our wedding. This baby will just continue the track we’ve been on… and complete it!

Perfect Spring Jacket

Embroidered Jacket | Rust Bodysuit | Bootie (exact same style/ different colors)  Bracelets: cadyn + Charlie

Ok… I found ya’ll the perfect spring transition jacket. The embroidery is beutiful and I loved the army green color. (It also comes in black.) I paired it with a rust bodysuit to brighten it up for spring. How cute would this jacket be with some cut off denim shorts once it warms up?! This Nashville weather has been so bi-polar lately. One day it’s 20 degrees and the next it’s 60. I’m sure ready for some sunshine and warmer days. It’s so hard to get out and about with Georgie when it’s cold. On the warm days I try to take advantage and take him for strolls and out and about for errands.

Mexican Castaway

Ruffle Swimsuit | Print Weekender Bag | Distressed Overalls | Distressed Jean Shorts | Tom Petty Tour Tee | Lace Up One- Piece | Beach Hat | Lace-Up Sandal | Green Plunge Swimsuit Bracelets: Cadyn and Charlie

Beach Make-Up/Product: Foundation (it’s water based with SPF, perfect for the beach!) Sunscreen (non chemical, and also moisturizing) Bronzer (pretty much the only “make-up” I put on my face during the trip Day/Night Cream (if you want your skin to feel like a million bucks…use this)

Neither Trey or I were feeling very well when we left for this trip, but we just didn’t want to miss out on a couple days in the sun in Mexico! We stayed at the Hard Rock Riveria Maya (it was for the Zac Brown Castaway trip.) You really can’t beat an all inclusive resort AND great music. The resort was great, the rooms are extra large and we had two balconies. One had a hammock and the rooftop one had a hot tub. I’m not really a fan of all inclusive resort style buffet’s BUT the dinners at the restaurants were great! I’d recommend the Mexican themed one. Tableside guac. Enough said.

When packing for an all inclusive trip…. simple is really best. I really like to keep it in a carry on size bag to make customs as easy as possible.

My recommendations:

Several Swimsuits- I packed this hunter green plunging one piece that was under $20, a lace up one piece that I received SO many compliments on, and an off the shoulder ruffle one that can easily go from pool side to night time.

I never go to a warm location without my favorite denim cut offs! I have a black pair as well as a light denim pair.

caftan can be worn as a swim cover up during the day, and then at night I tucked the top in to the front of some denim cut offs and wore it again. (My exact one is an old print, this is the same one in a different print.)

A big beach hat and a go to pair of sunglasses are a MUST!

For one of the nights I also brought this easy maxi dress that also doubles as a swim cover up. I didn’t end up wearing it this trip, because we stayed in one of the nights in our robes and just relaxed. BUT a must on a beach trip.

Also, to switch it up and have one item that’s not as expected I wore these cute distressed overalls with a (under $15) band tee.

As far as shoes go, I packed one pair of wedges, one pair of lace up sandals (shown in picture above) and a pair of flip flops.

AND THAT’S REALLY IT. The lighter the better on trips like this. The key is all of those items that double as swim cover up and night pieces. The ruffle top swimsuit would look great with a maxi skirt and some wedges for night too!

Spring Transition Bomber/Duster

Bomber/Duster Coat | Over the Knee Boot (Under $100!)  | Leather Pant | Ray Bans | Gucci Bag Bracelets: Cadyn & Charlie

Happy Monday! First off, thanks to everyone who entered last week’s ultimate Nashville giveaway!! Since so many of ya’ll entered, we decided to team back up and bring you another one in just a few short weeks. AND let me just tell you this one is HUGE!!

G has been sick all week, so I really haven’t left the house besides to head to his pediatrician. Trey offered to go in to work late last Friday so I could grab a coffee with a friend and run some errands… and I GLADLY accepted his offer.

I wanted to dress up JUST a little bit since the rest of the week I didn’t get out of my pajamas, and this bomber duster coat fit the bill perfectly. It is so comfortable and really makes any outfit! (P.S. it’s under $100!!!) I paired it with these over the knee boots and some leather pants (both also under $100!).

We are off to Mexico this week…lots of spring and summer outfit ideas to come!

Vail Winter Wonderland

Blue Puffer Coat | Snow Boots with Fur | Cable knit pom beanie | White Puffer Jacket

It’s always hard leaving Georgie, but I think it is equally important to spend quality time away with your spouse. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life there are days when Trey and I don’t even get time to talk about anything other than the baby or a quick recap of work. (Actually, that’s almost how everyday is…) SO when the opportunity came to go on a weekend getaway to Vail, I was all in!

We call Colorado our “happy place.” I know I mentioned this in my last Colorado trip from October, but winter there is extra special. Skiing down the mountain, apres skis, and lounging in a luxury hotel is about as good as it gets for me!

If you are planning a trip, I HIGHLY recommend splurging to stay at the Four Seasons. The rooms are oversized and are equipped with a coffee bar and a huge soaking tub. (It was dreamy.) Service is top notch. They even put feet warmers inside the edge of the bed at night. If you plan to ski, the concierge service is so convenient. You can easily walk to the bottom of the mountain, and they bring your skis right to you so you never have to carry them around. There are even lockers with boot warmers, so the next day your boots are dry and warm. I ordered room service breakfast each day, and even one night when I was too exhausted from the day to get out. I’m not usually a room service fan, the food never seems to taste as good as it sounds, BUT this was top notch!

Even if you don’t stay at the Four Seasons, there are two MUST do’s there that you don’t have to be a guest to experience. Do yourself a favor and stop in and order a hot chocolate. It’s the most amazing thing in the world. Homeade, with a homeade marshmellow and chocolate lattice and then they do a slow pour from a copper kettle so it slowly melts. I’m still dreaming about it. You can go to the outdoor deck and enjoy it next to a fire pit.  Flame is the restuarant in the resort, and it was the best meal we had while we were there. Truly delicious!

Vail had just gotten 30 inches of fresh snow while we were there, so it made for some pretty epic mountain days. Alex and I kept it pretty easy and stuck to green and blue runs, but had the best time doing it! We would stop and just stare at how beautiful it was and take lots of pictures. HA!

Vail Village reminds me of something straight out of Switzerland or something. It has the prettiest aesthetic and we loved just walking around, dropping in to the little shops and restaurants. I stayed in this puffer coat with fur hood and my snow boots (both currenlty on SALE) the entire time and they kept me nice and toasty. If you were wondering what to wear on a ski trip, truly just have a great coat and boots and you are good to go!

It’s not often I feel rested with an 8 month old that doesn’t sleep all night just yet, but I came home truly rested and rejuvanated and ready to tackle my week. That really is the best feeling. My mom also was able to get lots of one on one time with G and I know she loved that!

P.S. My skin gets so insanely dry out there. I used this Tula Day & Night Cream and for the first time my skin did not dry out and turn into a flaky mess. (Not sponsored or anything, it’s just that dang good!)

The Hustle Gang- Ultimate Nashville Giveaway

Happy Monday! I’ve been so excited to share this massive giveaway with ya’ll!! I strongly believe you are whom you surround yourself around. I chose to surround myself with positive friends that chose to build each other up and help each other out. When you eliminate any jealousy or petty-ness and truly want the best for your friends, it only helps yourself in the long run. I’m so thankful to have a group of great girlfriends here in Nashville that are out there pursuing their goals and dreams and are not afraid to do the daily hustle and work hard for what they want. To celebrate this notion…… we’ve paired together to bring ya’ll an ultimate Nashville day! (How perfect would this be as a date?! Just in time for Valentine’s day..)

We are giving away:

  • A free night stay at the Thompson Hotel (King room plus valet). This is the hottest spot in Nashville right now. You must check out L.A. Jackson, their rooftop bar.
  • A $200 gift card to have dinner at the new trendy restaurant Fin and Pearl.
  • A Beauty package from Parlour 3. If you don’t know Parlour 3, it is the top of the top in the beauty world. They cater to tons of celebrities and country stars. Owner, Melissa Schleicher is Carrie Underwood’s go to girl for hair and make-up!! I was lucky enough to have her do mine for this shoot, and I picked her brain about everything she was doing and products she used. (Post on that to come soon.. but for now I will tell you she said if she could only pick one product to have in her make-up bag this concealer would be it, and here is her “most perfect” nude lipstick in the shade “nude Kate.”)
  • A $150 gift card and a swag bag from Kitty Nashville. Kitty is one of the coolest clothing boutiques in Nashville. It’s owned by my friend and total boss babe, Sarah Davidson. She has curated the coolest looks and it’s got the best decor. A must stop when visiting Nashville!

We really had so much fun getting ready at Parlour 3 together, and just talking about our upcoming goals and aspirations. To enter the giveaway head over to my instagram (@beauandarrownashville) and follow us, as well as tag a friend you would love to share this ultimate Nasvhille day with!

I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone that has been following along on this journey with me and thought that hitting 10,000 followers on IG was the perfect time! If you aren’t following me yet, I’d love to have you! (@beauandarrownashville).

Beau & Arrow actually originated as an idea for a boutique with a friend of mine. Life happened (I got pregnant) and there was a change in that plan. Brit is still opening a boutique but she switched it to a men’s store. Ruckle + Rye will be opening this spring in the Gulch. Nashvillians and visitors you MUST check it out. I decided to do a spin off and start a blog. I thought it was the perfect way to travel with my husband, stay at home with my son, and still have a creative outlet for myself.

Little did I know that I would gain some amazing friends, really fine tune my style, reflect on my life and gain some amazing fashion and travel opportunities along the way!

My deepest gratitude goes out to everyone that has followed along, read a blog post, been inspired by an outfit, and shown me so much love and support.

Thank you all!!!

XO,

ASH

P.S. Most of the time mom life and comfy clothes are one in the same. This poncho sweatshirt is no joke the most comfortable thing I’ve put on my body. I LIVE in it. These suede sneakers are fur lined and feel like slippers. Bonus!

New Year, Less Stuff

I’ve always been a pretty typical New Year’s “resolution-er.” You know the type. “I’m going to eat great every day, workout and get in the best shape of my life!” For a few weeks I’ll do a great job, then eventually fall off the bandwagon and go into a yo-yo diet. (Worse than the habits I had before.) Health is one of the most important things, and I am not under valuing that at all. Without our health, we don’t have much. HOWEVER…… I’m not falling into that category this year.

For G’s 6 month birthday I did a post on ways that he has changed me, and I’m going to add something else to that list. I’ve really seen what’s important so this year my resolutions are a little different.

First off, I want to give more and buy less. I am such a shopaholic. (First step is admitting it, right?!) It’s gotten a little out of control to the point where I don’t even have anywhere to put all of the “things.” I’ve already started to clean out sell and donate and it feels so good. Do not give me wrong, I will always be a fashion lover. I will still be bringing you great outfits, designers, etc. What I have realized is I don’t need to be buying these things on a weekly basis. I’m going to concentrate on quality pieces that work well with everything and then every now and again a fun trendy item.

The other part of this resolution is to “give more.” There are many parts to this one. Literally I want to give more to charities with my time and donating things we no longer use. But I also want to give Georgie more by putting my phone down (if you’ve noticed I haven’t been as active on social media lately) and really being present with him. These moments with him are already flying by and I don’t want to look back and feel like I could have been there more. I want to be a better wife and do the things I know that Trey loves, even when it’s not my favorite things to do. Lastly, give more to my friends. It’s soooo easy to get caught up in your own day-to-day life that you aren’t always the most attentive friend. Since G’s birth I have not been as good as I should be. Even if it’s as simple as a quick phone call, or a card in the mall over an accomplishment a friend has made.

I’m a firm believer in positive thinking and “thinking things into existence.” Part of this is talking about and writing down your goals. Whatever your resolutions may be this year, write them down! Talk about them out loud to others. You will feel more accountability and they are much more likely to happen!

This outfit is keeping to my new theory. I wear this leather jacket more than anything else I own! Here is an affordable version . I paired it with a chunky oversized scarf that I can get a ton of wear out of, this under $20 pocket t-shirt AND of course my favorite Christmas present this gucci bag.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a great start to the New Year!

ASH

Life Update

Stripe Blouse | Jeans | Platform Sandals

Life has been a little hectic lately, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Trey had to travel the majority of November, so G and I decided to pack up and take a little trip to NYC with him. (Pics coming soon!) We had visions of taking him into a big toy store or him loving all the lights in Times Square. Let’s just say this wasn’t exactly the case. He fell asleep in Times Square and it was so crowded we just turned right back around and left. We did get to see one of Trey’s bands perfrom at the Beacon which was awesome and had time to go to dinner with some great friends. We also strolled around and checked out all the Christmas window displays and did lots of shopping. (My favorite things to do in the city!)

We flew home from New York and instantly packed up and headed down to the beach to celebrate Thanksgiving with Trey’s family. It’s relaxing down there and Georgie loves going on golf cart rides and swims. He got lots of QT with his cousins too! It was so sweet seeing them interact with him.

The day after Thanksgiving we let G stay with Trey’s parents and all of his cousins and we headed up to Atlanta. (With all of our brother and sister in laws in tow. 8 of us!) Little did he know, it was for a surprise birthday party for him. Note to self…planning a surprise party in another city is not the easiest task to pull off. Overall it was a success!

Then we headed to Alabama to pick lil G back up from Trey’s parents house. We decided it would be best to stay then night there before road tripping back to Nashville.

5 states and 10 days later we are back in Nashville! I know December is a crazy month for most of us, but it’s important to relax and enjoy the festivities instead of stress. (I tend to struggle with this….) I found this striped blouse (on sale for under $100!) and thought it would be the perfect little 70’s (ish) look for more relaxed holiday lunch get togethers and casual parties. It was still warm here, so I paired it with these cute platforms, but this would look so cute with booties and a big shag jacket for colder temps.

Hope everyone is having a great week!
