Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019- Best of the Best

nordstrom anniversary sale

It’s that time of year again… the most wonderful sale of the year. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is unique because instead of items that are going out of season, it is the current season on sale up to 40% off BEFORE they go to full price for fall and winter. It’s so much fun to shop, but can be overwhelming as there are over 10,000 items on the sale this year and things sell out fast! I’ve gone through all 10,000 and picked the best of the best!

**You can click on any of the items in the collage to shop that item.**

Still In Stock & Worth Shopping

Best Of Women’s Clothing

These faux leather commando leggings are the best! I have them and got a TON of use out of them last year. Under my Instagram highlights there is a Spanx faux leather leggings vs Commando Faux Leather leggigs and (Spoiler Alert!) these WIN! If you are in between sizes, Size up. They are on the sale for $65 and normally run $100.

Faux Leather Snakeskin Moto Jacket by BLANKNYC is one of the best finds of the entire sale! I can’t believe it’s on sale for $65. It looks much more high end than that!! Every year they have a few jackets on the sale and they are the first to sell. Make sure you get yours fast! They have a suede jacket that is incredible too. It comes in grey and tan. You can shop that one HERE.

This https://rstyle.me/n/dpifj7bz57x is the kind that you will keep in your closet for YEARS. Such great quality and can be worn in all seasons.

This lace trim satin cami is the perfect layering piece and comes in lots of colors and patterns. This polka dot version reminds me so much of the Anine Bing designer version. At $25 it’s the perfect piece to stock up on.

Digging all the animal print this season. You can’t go wrong with this affordable leopard print slip dress. You can dress it up or wear a t-shirt underneath with sneakers and make it casual.

This faux crocodile leather moto jacket is such a classic. It’s under $100 and is a wardrobe staple.

Free People items always go fast on the sale, and these busted knee jeans are at such a good price point these are sure to go fast. I have these and absolutely love them.

The hem on these black Frame jeans is so interesting and fun. I always stock up on my designer denim because it is very deeply discounted and will be worn over and over.

So many great black jeans on the sale, but these classic Levi’s are great. Be sure to size up, they run small.

This white trench coat is one of my favorites from the whole sale. It’s a classic, but a bit more interesting! It comes in a similar drape version as well that you can shop that one HERE  .

This slouchy hooded sweatshirt is cozy, comes in several colors, and great quality.

Best Of Beauty

This Charlotte Tilbury three piece lip kit in shade “pillowtalk” is one of my favorite items on the sale. I wear this combo almost everyday, so I went ahead and bought two to stock up for the year. This mini eyeshadow palette by Charlotte Tilbury is so great as well. Their magic cream is amazing as well and comes in a trio kit HERE.

Oribe texture spray and dry shampoo are my life savers. You can see that set on the sale HERE.

This Kiehl’s Jumbo Creme de Corps Bottle with Pump Lotion will last you all year. This makes the best gift!

The Slip Pillowcases are amazing for your hair and skin. I love them! If you aren’t quite ready to pull the trigger on the real deal, there is also an awesome Amazon dupe of them HERE.

This Supergoop hand cream trio set sold out in 2.2 seconds last anniversary sale. It’s SO good. I read this article on how you can really see your age in your hands. So many people don’t apply sunscreen their. It’s such a great way to protect them from the sun. Their sunscreen is great as well and they have a set with three mist on the sale. You can shop the sunscreen HERE.

Recently I’ve been using this NuBodyand loving it. It’s on mega sale and helps to firm and tone your skin! (Perfect for summer season…)

I have and love my T3 curling iron and blow dryer and use them daily. ( I have shared them lots on my IG because they are so great!) They are part of the sale in the grey color and the perfect time to snatch them up if you have been thinking about making the investment.

Best of Shoes & Accessories

One of my most worn buys from last year were these nude Vince Mules. They are back with just a tiny change and also available in a snakeskin, black and nude. The leather is super soft and they go with everything.

Loving this chain necklace for everyday wear and to layer with other pieces.

So many great sunglasses on the sale last year. These affordable cat eye sunglasses are a must have. There are two pairs of Givenchy sunglasses this year. SO. DANG. GOOD. You can shop the aviator pair HERE and these fun thick exaggerated cat eye ones HERE.

Typically the bags don’t impress me, but this Rag & Bone Bag is made of the softest leather and it’s SO roomy. (Perfect for mamas to carry ALLLLL the things. This AllSaints crossbody bag is the perfect size, a great price point and comes in several color options.

Some great hats on the sale this year as well. Brixton always fit so well and look more high end. There’s a classic black one this year that you can shop https://rstyle.me/n/dpixdkbz57x and a camel version HERE. They look JUST LIKE the Lack Of Color ones that are more than double the price. Also loving this tan one with a snakeskin band.

Best of Home

First and foremost…. BAREFOOT DREAMS! If you haven’t been converted yet, it’s your time to try. I’ve never felt anything this cozy and soft. The boys LOVE them too. I’ve never seen them go on sale this great in the prints. I snagged this neutral camo one. They also have the leopard ones and ribbed throws. Can’t recommend these enough! The leopard is one of my favorite things I own. They sell out every time they become available at full price so these are sure to sell out super fast!

Another blanket that we absolutely love is this Giraffe at Home Snow Leopard blanket. This is insanely soft. Georgie sleeps with this blanket every night.

These gold salad serving spoons are so adorable and affordable.

This wooden serving bowlis the perfect salad bowl. Great for entertaining.

Best of Men’s

Trey has these Ray Ban’s and loves them. Such a steal during the sale!

The perfect everyday neutral sneaker. Can’t beat the $55 price tag.

Picked up these joggers for Trey. Love the marbled grey look.

These black Frame jeans are great deal for designer denim. A tiny bit of distressing and the jet back color makes them super modern. These are a great quality too!

This Kiehl’s face wash is the best for men. You can stock up for such a long time with this one.

Tumi luggage will last you forever. This carry on luggage is a great deal.

Can’t beat this classic black bomber jacket.

A well made leather jacket can be worn year after year. This AllSaints one fits so well and the leather is super soft.

Best of Active Wear & Intimates

This Alo Sports bra is super cute and during the sale you can snag it for $35. I love the matching yoga pants as well.

All about these shaggy pieces this year. Loving this vest version and this jacket version for fall.

If you’ve been wanting to try the biker short trend, now is your chance! These are a really good quality too.

Best of Baby & Toddler

Now is the time to grab big ticket baby items because they RARELY (if ever) are discounted like this.

The Nuna Pipa Lite carseat is the infant seat that we had for both of the boys. The Nuna Rava is what we currently have. HIGHLY recommend.

Clothes I grabbed for the boys:

Spring Transition Outfit Inspo

Ahh the temps are warming up, the sun is shining, flowers blooming, and we can start to shed some layers and dress for spring.

In this in between weather where it’s still a bit chilly, outfits can be tricky.

An easy way to style spring transition outfits is by wearing a warmer layer on top (sweater, sweatshirt, shirt with duster, etc.) and shorts or a skirt on bottom. I like to pair mine with boots or booties.

I’ve been living in these Anine Bing Sweatshirts. They run true to size. They are a bit pricey, but good quality, and I wear them over and over again.

These over the knee snakeskin boots are an Amazon find! They are under $40… crazy, right?! If you aren’t wanting something quite as bold I found a bootie version as well. You can shop those HERE. (They are $27 and another Amazon fashion find!)

A spring transition outfit staple is a faux leather skirt. Suede skirts are having a moment too! Here are some great options….

Enjoying The “Small Stuff” – Wilder’s First Haircut

Enjoying the “Small Stuff” – Wilder’s First Haircut

Yesterday I had all intentions of coming up with another “Christmas outing” to take the boys on.

You know, Christmas lights, Santa, Ice Show, Polar Express.. the list is endless.

The weather was terrible and Wilder was recovering from an ear infections, so we made the decision to just stay in instead. By “stay in” I mean we never got out of our pajamas until bath time. To change into a different pair of pajamas.

IT.WAS.MAGICAL. The boys were so fun as we built forts, cooked together, snuggled, danced to Christmas music, and truly enjoyed each others company.

If only I could have pressed pause on the life control remote…

But we can’t. In fact a lot of times it feels like we are running in “fast forward” instead. What we CAN do to savor these precious moments (whatever that stage of life is for you) is slow the rush and enjoy the “small stuff.”

Recently, we all went along for Wilder’s first haircut at Barbour 3. It was a special “small stuff” moment that we could have just rushed through like any other haircut.

Instead, we went as a family. We ate suckers, cheered him on and made the most of it.

This holiday season, if you have a bit of time off from the normal  hustle and bustle, I hope you can relish in the “small stuff.” Stay in your pajamas all day. Serve your community with a group of friends.

Truly be “present” and relish the quality time with family and friends.

Recently, I attended Christy Wright’s, Business Boutique. There were so many incredible women speakers who are constantly juggling the balancing act that is work/mom life.

n Emily Ley was one of the speakers and had a great comparison in regards to this balancing act. She said that it was like riding a bike. You are never just standing perfectly in place. You are always moving along trying to keep that perfect place where the bike is balanced.

Lately, this has been a huge struggle of mine. It feels more like my bike is racing down a huge hill at top speed or crashing at the bottom. I’m working on finding that sweet spot where I can just glide along.

On that note, fashion has always been something that I’ve loved and is fun and happy. At this stage in life, I’m not up to speed on every trend. Looking for wardrobe staple pieces that can live in the closet season after season is just more practical.

It keeps things streamlined, and it’s great to have these kinds of pieces when you, “have nothing to wear.”

A camel coat is an absolute closet must have for the fall! You can throw it over a graphic tee with distressed jeans and sneakers. It’s easy to dress up over a dress or a blouse and heels.

I’ve paired long camel coat with a simple white t-shirt, black denim and my favorite pair of $30 western booties. Easy for everyday wear.

Plaid coats are another great option. I’ve rounded up some great options in a save versus splurge post that you can find HERE.

I’ve rounded up 10 of my favorite camel coats at every price point. (One is even $35!)

5 things i've learned in business you need to know

Lately I’ve been reading a lot of books, podcasts and attending conferences on running a business. When listening to all these power house players in the biz game, there are a few common themes I’m hearing over and over.

I’ve adapted some of these things in my person business (and life) and it’s been a complete game changer almost overnight. Since, I believe there is room for everyone to be successful, I wanted to share some of the insight along with ya’ll.

5 Things I’ve Learned In Business That You Need To Know:

1. You should only be working, “On Purpose and with a Purpose.” Know your “why.” Why are you doing what you are doing? Understand your why. Write it down. Only do things that align with it.

Once you know your purpose, work “on purpose.” Do not waste your time if it is something that doesn’t help you achieve your end goal. Outsource what you don’t love or are not amazing at doing.

2. You’ve got everything you need to start. RIGHT NOW. (Thanks to Sarah Jakes Roberts for this amazing realization. If you have an idea and a passion, you’ve got everything you need. Start now. Do it scared. You will stumble, fall, learn, grow, but you will never know if you don’t start.

3. There’s no “secret sauce” to success. I used to look at other bloggers with more followers, better engagement etc. and think to myself they must know a secret to growing quickly. There must be some secret concoction that I just don’t know. Nope. There’s not. That recipe doesn’t exist. Actually, I take that back. There is. WORK. Hard work. More work. Outworking everyone around you. Dirty work. WORK. That sprinkled with some strong dashes of belief. Belief in yourself and your business.

4. Your ability is not limited to your experiences. Sarah Jakes Roberts dropped me with another major truth bomb that rocked my world. I’m going to repeat that one. Let it sink in. Your ability is not limited to your experiences. Your parents didn’t finish college? That doesn’t mean you can’t. You didn’t finish school? That doesn’t mean that you can’t run a successful business. It’s easier to plan for failures than have faith in success.

Do you innately plan a back up plan along with your business plan? Stop. Stop right now. You are manifesting that it won’t happen. It WILL happen if you allow it to. Not based on how you grew up. Not based on any outstanding circumstances, other than your willpower, belief in yourself, and grit to get the job done.

5. You are the cap to your business. Your business caps off where you do. Remove the lid. How do you remove that lid? You listen to podcasts, you ask the deep questions, you go to that conference, you read a business book, you research, you education yourself and believe in yourself. Take the lid off. You got this.

How stunning is this Hudson Valley Lighting Astoria Chandelier?! It was such a beautiful piece that I wanted to keep the rest of the dining room decor simple to let it shine. (Literally..ha!)

We started with a bright natural grasscloth. It’s a great way to add some texture into the space.

The rustic dark wood table tied in the darker tones of the floor. This exact table is Restoration Hardware. I’ve found a very similar, but more affordable option HERE.

The white chairs make a nice contrast to the table, and make it fun. (I’m still thinking of changing these out, but they work for now!) These exact are from Restoration Hardware as well. I’ve also found a similar, but more affordable option for those HERE.

Texture is my favorite to play with in home decor. If you stick with a more neutral palette (like our home) it’s the easiest way to add interest and have a more styled look. The easiest way to instantly add texture to a room is by layering rugs.

The base layer is this chunky jute rug. I can never deny a faux cowhide, and this grey version is at a great price point too! I’ve recently loved adding vintage turkish rugs into our home and the dining room decor was no exception! The prints are unique. This one was found at this Etsy shop HERE.

The curtains are velvet to continue with the texture play throughout the space.

My favorite part of the room is this one of a kind Sound Wave wooden art piece my dad made for us. It is off the sound wave of the song lyric by the Avett Brothers, “Always remember, there was nothing worth sharing like the love that let us share our name.”

When you share a meal in this dining room, we wanted it to feel like family. It’s the most important part of my life and this piece is just so meaningful and special.

I’ve found a really similar one you can purchase HERE.

Denim Jacket | | Sneakers

Golden Goose sneakers are all the rage these days, and I totally get it! They are so easy to slide on and go. Style them with a dress or a t-shirt and jeans. They have that effortlessly cool factor to them, and will quickly become the most worn item in your closet.

For this look, I threw on a pair of black denim, a snakeskin blouse, and another fall wardrobe capsule item, this denim jacket. Easy peasy!

Now, I know they are an investment. For me, I am in sneakers the majority of the time. I can have a toddler on each hip, slip them on, and still leave the house feeling stylish.

Golden Goose is an Italian brand founded by Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in 2000. They considered themselves “outsiders” in the fashion world, and never played by the rules. Perhaps that’s why they have become such a cult favorite; their authenticity and boldness paved their own way.

SIZING

Since they are an Italian brand, the sizing is in the Italian standard. (Example: 36-42.)
For reference, I am a standard US 8.5. I wear a 38 in Golden Goose. A general good rule of thumb with Golden Goose is to order a 1/2 size down. So a 38 would be an 8 which is 1/2 size down from my typical 8.5.

SELECTION

One of the things the brand prides themselves on is being extremely particular about who they let carry their shoes. Their branding must align, and it gives it more of an exclusive feel. They do smaller size runs of each style as well. (Meaning if you see one you like, scoop it up! They will sell out quickly.)

A few of the places that I have found to have GREAT selections of Golden Goose sneakers are:

* Intermix -(This is where the pair pictured were purchased.) They always get a unique selection, and occasionally will go on sale as well.

* Net-A-Porter – They have a wide selection with tons of sizes always in stock.

* Revolve – If you are wanting a payment plan type of option, this site offers Afterpay.

* Nordstrom- If you are a Nordy Club member it’s great to add up points to get a note. (Be sure to use a double point day on bigger splurge days to make the most of your reward $$.)

* Shopbop– They keep a good stock and often have exclusives.

* SSENSE– A HUGE selection. A few times a year they will have Golden Goose go on sale. I always update this page and the sale styles as soon as it goes live.

SALES

The best news yet…. you can find them on sale! There are a few places that frequents putting these beauties up on sale.

Far Fetch has frequent Golden Goose Sales as well as SSense. Revolve does as well.

THE TEN BEST GOLDEN GOOSE DUPES

** I’ve updated this post with additional pairs. We are always adding to this list as new ones come out or as others sell out. You can bookmark this page to check for sales, new dupes and exclusive pairs. **

If you aren’t ready to commit to a pair… I’ve rounded up some really awesome dupes! A great way to get the look for less!

5 Fall Tops Under $50

5 Fall Tops Under $50

Polka Dot Blouse | Open Knee High-Waisted Jeans | Snakeskin Booties | Handbag

Fall fashion is just the best! I love the layered look, and mixing prints and textures. While it’s still a little warm you can wear these tops on their own, and as the temps drop layer them with cardigans, moto jackets, coats, scarves, etc.

Print mixing is a favorite styling trick of mine. It adds so much interest to any outfit! This polka dot blouse is the perfect coloring to mix with a animal print (that’s hot for fall!). I paired it with these snakeskin booties. (They are on mega sale!) It would also look great paired with leopard print.

These busted knee high-rise jeans are an absolute staple closet item. They are $78, come in multiple colors, run true to size, and are the perfect high-waist to pair with crop tops and not bare any belly.

In the fall it’s great to invest in jackets and coats that can take you from season to season. Good booties, bags and sunglasses are other things that when you factor the cost per wear, good quality is worth it. When it comes to tops I like to stick with trendier/more affordable options. Partner that with a few higher quality pieces and the whole look is elevated.
