Spring fashion is one of my favorites! Summer it gets too hot, winter too cold. Fall and spring are just right. If this isn’t the most perfect spring jacket that exists, then I just don’t know what is!
The floral embroidery/white combination is easy to pair with a plain t-shirt and denim shorts, or dress up with a silky slinky dress underneath and some heels.I paired it with my ABSOLUTE favorite basic t-shirt. It comes in several colors, and is under $20. You can find it here. It’s not overly heavy at all, so it really is perfect for this weather. You can rock this into summer at night time as well. They did not miss a single detail on this beauty, from the grommets around the sleeves and up the back, to the embroidery on the collar, back and front… it’s just all so good. I could go on and on forever. I have the black version as well, and received so many compliments any time I would wear it!
If you haven’t made the plunge to buy a pair of one teaspoon denim shorts , you should. I wear mine NON stop. I ordered a size up for pregnancy with G and wore them most of the time then too. My go to looks for spring fashion are anything paired with some one teaspoons. HA!
We are so happy to have some warmer weather in the Wilson household. Georgie was starting to go a little stir crazy. Even just going out to run errands is just a little happier and easier. I roll the window down for him and he just smiles away. It’s so sweet to see how much he enjoys being outside.
Hope everyone has a great week. We had a great time in Vegas for the ACM awards this past weekend. I’ll be sharing pics from my camera roll ASAP with some behind the scenes shots, outfit ideas and share some of our favorite places to check out to eat and visit as well. Stay tuned!
P.S. I was getting lots of questions on this lip color on my Instastories.. the color is “mauve” and you can find it HERE .
I can’t believe we are halfway to meeting our new little boy! I’ve been so busy chasing after Georgie and keeping up with everyday life that time flew by this go around!
With G I had several issues, and generally didn’t feel well the entire time. This pregnancy has gone much smoother, and besides the normal first trimester sickness it’s been easy sailing.
Last pregnancy I bought very few maternity items. I typically try to pick clothes that I can wear again post pregnancy. So far I am still in my regular jeans, but I am loving being comfortable!
Anyone that knows me well knows how much I love my robe. I wear it so much my nephew came to the door one time and I was in street clothes. He instantly looked at me confused and asked, “Where’s your robe?” Well, this duster feels just like a robe!! It’s one of those pieces that every time you wear it people ask where you got it. It’s so comfy and will be so cute with denim cut offs and a blouse or t-shirt this summer. I paired it with some heels to take the look up a notch, but it would be just as cute with some comfy sneakers.
This vintage distressed shirt is from Starstruck Vintage in Nashville. They have the best vintage graphic band shirts! If you aren’t in Nashville, you can shop it here.
It’s felt like spring in February the last few days in Nashville and it has been glorious!! I’m spending as much time as I can outside to soak it all up and look at the spring blooms. I have found ya’ll the perfect off the shoulder dress ! It can be dressed up or down and is under $100!! It’s cotton and lightweight so it would make the perfect swim cover up this summer as well. I paired it with my go to suede booties, and some handmade jewelry. So easy and comfortable. Whenver it’s a little more cool, I will layer a denim jacket over it and my Converse or Golden Goose tennis shoes.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Trey will be gone most of the month of March for work, so we will be getting outside with Georgie and soaking in all the family time that we can!
Ok… I found ya’ll the perfect spring transition jacket. The embroidery is beutiful and I loved the army green color. (It also comes in black.) I paired it with a rust bodysuit to brighten it up for spring. How cute would this jacket be with some cut off denim shorts once it warms up?! This Nashville weather has been so bi-polar lately. One day it’s 20 degrees and the next it’s 60. I’m sure ready for some sunshine and warmer days. It’s so hard to get out and about with Georgie when it’s cold. On the warm days I try to take advantage and take him for strolls and out and about for errands.
I’ve always been a pretty typical New Year’s “resolution-er.” You know the type. “I’m going to eat great every day, workout and get in the best shape of my life!” For a few weeks I’ll do a great job, then eventually fall off the bandwagon and go into a yo-yo diet. (Worse than the habits I had before.) Health is one of the most important things, and I am not under valuing that at all. Without our health, we don’t have much. HOWEVER…… I’m not falling into that category this year.
For G’s 6 month birthday I did a post on ways that he has changed me, and I’m going to add something else to that list. I’ve really seen what’s important so this year my resolutions are a little different.
First off, I want to give more and buy less. I am such a shopaholic. (First step is admitting it, right?!) It’s gotten a little out of control to the point where I don’t even have anywhere to put all of the “things.” I’ve already started to clean out sell and donate and it feels so good. Do not give me wrong, I will always be a fashion lover. I will still be bringing you great outfits, designers, etc. What I have realized is I don’t need to be buying these things on a weekly basis. I’m going to concentrate on quality pieces that work well with everything and then every now and again a fun trendy item.
The other part of this resolution is to “give more.” There are many parts to this one. Literally I want to give more to charities with my time and donating things we no longer use. But I also want to give Georgie more by putting my phone down (if you’ve noticed I haven’t been as active on social media lately) and really being present with him. These moments with him are already flying by and I don’t want to look back and feel like I could have been there more. I want to be a better wife and do the things I know that Trey loves, even when it’s not my favorite things to do. Lastly, give more to my friends. It’s soooo easy to get caught up in your own day-to-day life that you aren’t always the most attentive friend. Since G’s birth I have not been as good as I should be. Even if it’s as simple as a quick phone call, or a card in the mall over an accomplishment a friend has made.
I’m a firm believer in positive thinking and “thinking things into existence.” Part of this is talking about and writing down your goals. Whatever your resolutions may be this year, write them down! Talk about them out loud to others. You will feel more accountability and they are much more likely to happen!
This outfit is keeping to my new theory. I wear this leather jacket more than anything else I own! Here is an affordable version . I paired it with a chunky oversized scarf that I can get a ton of wear out of, this under $20 pocket t-shirt AND of course my favorite Christmas present this gucci bag.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a great start to the New Year!
I had the best time attending the unveiling of local designer, Hey Wanderer’s new kimono collection, “eterno,” with fellow local blogger Hunter Schleicher.
The event was located at Mcgavock Manor, the adorable AirBNB and home of the creators of the brand. Every detail from the salted caramel macaroons, to the blankets laying around the fire pit, were perfect!
Hey Wanderer’s manifesto is derived from the concept that, “we are dreamers, thinkers, adventurers and believers. It’s a call to be better. We are all wanderers. We are all looking for something off the beaten path that will quench our thirst for knowledge, for being ahead, for being the best, and for living out dreams. Hey Wanderer is asking you not to settle, not to compromise, and to accept the struggle.”
I mean how perfect is that?!?!
These kimonos are what my dreams are made of. They are so comfortable and can be styled very casually or dressed up for any event. So much versatility in these, it’s something I HIGLY recommend adding to your wardrobe.
Each piece is hand-dyed and made to order. Can’t beat that!!!
Hope everyone is having a great week! So last week I teamed up with a local Nashville boutique, Posh, to do a social takeover for their store. They have 3 locations (Hillsboro Village, Green Hills and Cool Springs.) Each of the locations carries their own unique lines that cater to that area of town’s specific demographic. I love that! If you are visiting Nashville, or live here, you must stop in and say hello to the girls! The girls in there will help you find anything you need and they even have champs on hand to make shopping a little more fun. (Let’s be real.. champs makes errrything more fun! I wanted to show ya’ll some of my favorite looks from each of the locations and share with ya what I couldn’t leave without purchasing. (Yikes.)
So my eye instantly went to this beautiful print maxi dress (wearing here as a duster.) This has been one of my easy “go to’s” for fall season. You can rock it as a maxi dress or put it over a shirt and some jeans open as a duster. This can carry you into the summer as well you can wear it over some cut off jean shorts and sandals too. I paired it with these caged BCBGeneration heels, because I loved the grommet detailing that is all the rage this fall and a Z Supply grey shirt. (SO SO comfy.)
This was at the Hillsboro Village location. Their dressing room has an adobe cave feel. Isn’t it the coolest?! The sales room in this location is MASSIVE. So. many. SHOES. At the Hillsboro location they also offer a wide range of mens clothing and some awesome gift items. They had an entire candle wall.
This crop top gave me alllll the feels. I loved the ruffle detailing on the sleeves and the bow. At first glance, I thought there was no chance I could wear this with my new post baby bod. HOWEVER, with some high waisted jeans it is totally do-able. I feel a lot of people are scared of the crop, but if styled correctly it can be really flattering without being overly revealing. One of my favorite styling tips is to mix and match girly items with more edgy items. These lace up booties where able to capture just that.
I also fell in love with this Scotch & Soda leather jacket. Ya’ll probably know by now that jackets are kind of “my thing.” I just don’t have it in me to turn down a good one. The star details on this are really great, and the leather is so soft. You can contact Posh for more details on this gem! I paired it with these chuncky booties. They were really easy to walk in and they have a great dip in the front that makes them really flattering.
I completely fell in love with this beautiful Misa Collection 2 peice. How pretty is this print?! You can wear just the top with some jeans or just the skirt with a tied up t-shirt to make it more casual. I loved the look of both pieces together too.
This was at their Green Hills location. They had some really great dress options, and so many shoes, bags, sunglasses and gift ideas. They too carry mens clothing at this location. I found a Scotch & Soda vest for Trey. So good.
Last location of the day was at their Cool Springs location. They have lots of everyday, wearable pieces at this store. I couldn’t leave with out this last outfit. I knew the pieces were neutral and really versatile and I could wear them in my everyday mom life. If you haven’t invested in a rails shirt yet… go ahead and take the plunge. I typically wear their plaid styles, but couldn’t turn down this striped top. These olive jeans are really comfortable. (P.S. you can wear olive as a neutral just as you would wear a jean!) I topped it with a leather baseball cap and the best slide-on shoes I have seen.
It was such a fun experience hanging out at all of their locations and diving in to all of their fall pieces. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or reach out to POSH (poshonline on all social handles) if you’d like to plan a girls shopping trip with them!
It’s finally feeling like fall. Hallelujah! The greatest part of the new found cooler temperatures is being able to spend more time outdoors. Georgie wasn’t quite big enough to be outside for any long period of time this summer. I’m ready to take full advantage of patios and parks.
G and I had a mommy/son lunch date the other day and walked around a nearby neighborhood. He loves being outside, and I love to be able to get out of the house a bit so it was a win-win!
How cute is this hooded zip-up jacket on Georgie?! I love the leather detailing on the zip. It does come in a white and pretty blush (for any girl mamas out there) as well. I love the hood option to cover his little ears, if it gets too windy. Luckily, he’s still fitting in my favorite moccasins. These were a shower gift, and possibly G’s most worn item. He gets complimented on them all the time!
I love the bell sleeve trend and couldn’t pass up this striped top. (P.S. It’s $20!) If you have stopped by the blog before, you know I can’t stop wearing these cropped skinny jeans. Best purchase that I have made in a hot minute.
Ok, I will admit that it was 90 degrees when we shot this look. I am just so ready for fall I couldn’t help myself! I snagged this fur leather jacket at Hemline in Nashville. The makes such a statement, but it is also removable if you need a less dramatic look.
So lately I have been in a little bit of a rut adjusting to stay at home mom life. I spend my whole day catering to Georgie’s needs and typically forget about my own. This will always be my first priority, but at the end of the day I don’t feel like I have accomplished much else. We do travel and get out and “go” a lot as a family. However, in my normal weekday routine, I’m finding myself struggling.
When Trey comes home from work, he has so many things he was able to check off his to do list and I am left with little to talk about besides Georgie’s nap schedule. I end up using the excuse; “there just aren’t enough hours in the day.” Is that really the problem? Probably not. I think lack of direction, not lack of hours, has been the culprit of my rut.
BUT. I am ready to change this! Who is with me?! My mother has always been the queen of to-do lists. She keeps a big binder with pages of her to-do list and then thoughts for the day. A whole years’ worth may be extreme, but the idea is great. Careful thought, planning and direction lead to productivity.
I’m determined to spend more time accomplishing my own goals and dreams AND be a tending mother. Today I utilized his nap times to get laundry done and some housework AND send out emails and blog. Small start, but still a start.
Anyway, just a little food for thought. Fall is right around the corner! My next few blog posts will be dedicated to the basics you need to get you through this glorious season!
I am all about some great denim. Jackets and denim are both something I will let myself splurge on. I can justify it, because I wear them so much that the cost per wear is reasonable. (This is normal, right?) I loved these grey jeans because they are a great basic color that is still neutral, but gives a little bit of a pop. I paired it with an easy boyfriend t-shirt and these over the knee boots. (Under $100.)
Hope everyone has a great week with lots of things checked off the to-do list! 😉
Having a few hours to myself to run errands is as good as gold these days. It is not very often that I get to just run to the grocery store or pick up a coffee alone. When the stars align just right and it does happen, I try and take FULL advantage. I don’t have a ton of time to get ready, so I typically go to my “mom uniform” these days. A good graphic t-shirt or tank, crop jeans, a bandana, hat and some aviators. I like to pair this casual look with a nice designer bag to “up” it just a touch.
I make it a point to go get myself a good coffee, blare some music in my car and just de-stress.
These destroyed ankle skinny jeans are honestly my favorite pair I have ever owned. They are under $80 and come in a ton of different colors. The pair I’m wearing are “stark black”. I’m stocking up on a dark denim option as well as the olive. They have such a great fit, and I love the crop for bootie weather.
Let’s be real….I have a hat on 90% of the time, because taking a shower and washing my hair is also like finding the holy grail. It’s hard to make time for that with a traveling husband and a 3 month old. Lucky for me I am obsessed with this black one and it is at a great price point.
An open back bootie is THE PERFECT shoe for transitioning into fall and fall. These grey split front /slide ons are the best. They come in 5 different colors. You need them all. They are so easy to throw on and I love how they look with a crop jean. Also, under $100. Party!
