I had so much fun doing a little social takeover for The Nashville Guide, showcasing my favorite places to shop in Nashville. This week I’ll be sharing them with ya’ll! If you are located in Nashville, you MUST check them out. If you visit, these are all unique places to pay a visit. If you aren’t a Nashvillian, and you aren’t visiting anytime soon… you are in luck! You can shop the first stop, Kitty Nashville, here.

Kitty is a boutique and lifestyle brand founded by Sarah Davidson, of the band Stella James. She is a renaissance woman and started the business under the principal that woman can have it all and be it all, regardless of society’s standards of what we should or shouldn’t be. (I mean, how badass is that?!) The idea came to her after a meeting with a music manager who told her this wasn’t the case. Well, look at her now!

Raina Gir, is a local stylist who also manages the boutique and the brand. She’s also an insanely talented jewelry designer, who sells her designs (Rain + Rust) exclusively for Kitty. I’ve had her make pieces for some of my celebrity styling clientele and they were all more than impressed.

Sarah put so much effort into the design of the store. From the intricate tin ceiling tiles, to the #OOTD wall, to the record player constantly playing music, she’s thought of every detail. There’s usually some wine flowing… can’t beat that!

I LOVED the print of this maxi dress (which also come in a red/pink combo) and the lace up block heel. The western bolo is one of Raina’s designs.

Can’t wait to show ya’ll more Nashville goodness.

Cactus Blouse | Flare Skirt | Boots | Hat | Fringe Bag (Jennifer Haley- available at Bluefly..your first order is 10% off!) Necklace: Gold & Stone Jewelry

Mom life is hard. It’s not too often that I get out and about these days. However, every now and again it feels good to put on a little lipgloss and a skirt to run my errands and grab a coffee with some friends.  (With Georgie in tow!) I’m obsessed with Jennifer Haley bags, and this large fringe one is big enough for G’s essentials. It’s also easy to carry the car seat and not have to carry a bag. Bonus!

I was feeling all the western vibes in this look! A great hat is a must in Nashville. This one is a nice quality and inexpensive! This flare skirt is one of my favorite basics. It really has a great shape to it that is universally flattering.  I jumped on the cactus trend with this cute knot blouse. Some sizes are available at Revolve Clothing and the rest are available at Shopbop.

Suede Tank Dress | Choker | Long Necklace:  Rain + Rust Jewelry sold at Kitty in Nashville | Bracelets: Omi Beads sold at Hemline in Nashville | Shoes: Rebels Footwear (Style is Angie in Mocha)

On Trey: Grey Pants (Might be best fabric on a mens pant I’ve ever come across!)

On Georgie: Three Piece Set

I missed the window of opportunity for true newborn pics (besides the few we were able to snap at the hospital) so we decided to go ahead and get our first family photos. I love how they turned out! Georgie has been packing on the pounds these last couple weeks. He is starting to interact with us a little more and we are soaking him in. We found out he is lactose intolerant, so I’ve had to cut back all dairy from my diet. (Ahh how I miss CHEESE!) But other than that he has been so sweet and great.

I went with a suede dress for our first family photographs. It’s so comfy and easy with the little man. I plan to wear this a LOT this summer. Plus, it’s almost half price right now!  Here is a similar suede dress but a lace up version. It also has whipstiching and is ON MEGA SALE. It’s drool worthy. I also found some great suede dress options that are very budget friendly. You can shop them here and here. I wanted a monochromatic look so I went with suede shoes too. These have a chunky heel and I can stand in them all day they are so comfy and sturdy!

Grey Shirt | Distressed Jeans | Statement Necklace | Lace Up Heels

I wasn’t prepared for how long it would take to get out the door once baby G arrived. Simple and easy is key when I have to be somewhere on time these days. (And even then, “on time” hasn’t really happened yet.) I have a new favorite basic t-shirt! It’s under $20 and comes in 8 colors. I’ve been wearing my grey one so much, I’m going to need to stock up on all the other colors too. I love the soft fabrication, relaxed fit and pocket detail. After lots of searching, I finally came across the perfect distressed skinny jean. (Bonus: these are under $100!) These have a little bit more of a slouchier fit then a typical skinny jean. If you size down, they fit more like a true skinny. For my post partum body, the slouchier fit is perfect.  You can throw on a statement necklace and make any outfit seem more put together. Squash blossom style necklaces have been a long time favorite of mine. My exact one is no longer available, but this one is nearly identical and a great price. These lace up heels are under $50 and the perfect color to go with just about anything. A full face of make- up just isn’t realistic while Georgie is still so young (aka keeping me up all night). The two absolute must haves for me have been this tinted moisturizer (with built in sunscreen) and this lip pencil. I can throw them on in a quick minute and look just a little bit more put together.

Shower Dress | Strappy Sandal | Beaded Tassel Necklace | Fringe Bag |

My awesome sister in laws and best friend threw me a second shower in Nashville this weekend, just in time for baby W’s arrival! I was so thankful to have friends and family come in town and celebrate with us. It was great to just spend some QT with everyone.  The silhouette of this boho print dress is so flattering on everyone! The designer comes out with this style every year, but when I saw the print on this I knew I had to have it. I plan to rock it over some skinny jeans this summer too, and with a cute belt post baby. I had been wanting these black aviator Ray Bans for awhile now, so I decided to treat myself to a little push present. 😉

cold shoulder sweater | denim shorts | Chunky heel sandal | bandana necklace | Handbag: www.violetrayny.com

Alright ya’ll, only four days until this little babe is here! It feels so surreal. I picked up this cold shoulder sweater for 25% off and have worn it everyday since I got it. (Eeek, I know.) It’s lightweight and so comfy. P.S. This BCBG  trend event sale is great! All their new merchandise is 25% off. I stocked up on 3 different dresses, this sweater, and the cutest summer top. (All coming your way soon!) It’s been so nice here in Nashville, I’ve been able to rock my go to denim shorts (don’t be fooled, the top button is not buttoned.) These chunky heel sandals are so comfortable, I can wear them 9 months pregnant and running errands all day. I consider that a win! This little bandana necklace is under $40, and  the perfect update to the neck bandana for this summer. I have been picking up little odd and end things to pack in the hospital bags, stocking the house up on essentials and pantry basics, and reading everything there is to read about caring for a newborn. If anyone has any suggestions for things that helped in their last few days, I’d love to hear any advice! I’m soaking up everything I can get my hands on.

Final Countdown…

Fringe Bag | Western Booties | Embroidery Dress | Best Slip Ever! | Necklace: freshieandzero.com (A local Nashville based jewelry designer)

The final days of my pregnancy are drawing near! I like to think I’ve been hanging in there pretty well, but I don’t think I will be one of those people that miss their bump. (Or being jabbed in the ribs, not being able to sleep, etc.) I’m so anxious to meet our little one and snuggle him up! As you probably already know, I’m also anti-maternity clothes. I did purchase one pair of maternity jeans, and I did get lots of wear out them! Other than that, I used the pony holder trick as long as possible for jeans, and searched for comfortable items that would also work post pregnancy. Now that it’s warm outside, dresses really come in to save the day! This embroidered dress  with fringe detailing was one of those great finds! It’s under $100 and could also be used as a cover up this summer. There is no lining in the dress, so I paired my favorite slip underneath. If you don’t have one of these bad boys yet, you need one! They don’t ride up at all. I had mine before pregnancy and there was plenty of strech to accomodate the bump. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Everyday Go To’s (Bump Version)

The ACM awards are this weekend, so I have been running around getting last minute things for  clients (and attempting to find a dress for myself that can fit this bump!). On these long days, comfort is key! I switch it up slightly from day to day, but there are a few basic pieces I rely on. (Psst, none of them are maternity!) I start pretty much every outfit with one of these camis. I have the nude and the black. I bought these pre-pregnancy, but they are nylon and spandex and have plenty of extra stretch.  I’m still rockin’ my same size. Bump or no bump, these are  the best basic pieces I own! I then layer that with a loose sweater or a button down worn open. (Again, these are the same size I wore pre-pregnancy.) You can wear them buttoned up when non pregnant, and I wear them open, or tied around my waist, currently. The one I have on you can find here, but I also found one by the same designer, with a similar print, that’s on sale here. Throw on some tinted moisturizer and my go to lip pencil and I’m out the door. I’ve found when life is hectic, simple fashion is best! I leave for Vegas in just a few short days and can’t wait to share all the fun stuff I have up my sleeve. 😉

Life Update

Hope everyone is having an awesome week so. It’s really flown by for me! One of my favorite hats I wear, is stylist. March is always a busy time for this! With ACM’s the first weekend of April, I’ve been working on finding some extra special threads for the artists Brit and I will be styling for the red carpet. In addition, we are shooting a music video for Drake White’s new single, “Livin the Dream.” We have been running around town looking for some perfect boho pieces for the shoot. (I’ll make sure to get some good behind the scene shots for ya’ll!)

On top of styling, I’ve been in full on nesting mode! With the baby shower coming up this weekend, I needed to organize and clear out the nursery closet and make room for Baby W’s sweet new things. Any other (not normally overly organized) mamas out there that can’t stop finding organization projects?! Something about it seems to help my baby anxiety.

AND.. on top of all that I’ve been heading to my doctor’s office more than normal. I didn’t pass the first diabetes test, so I had to go back for the long version of the test.  You fast, drink a horrible glucose drink, and then have blood drawn every hour, on the hour, for 4 hours. Not pleasant. Lucky for me, Trey was able to come with me and keep me company. It gave me some time to catch up on my baby books too.

With all the craziness going on, I’ve been rocking comfy dresses and booties, whenever the weather is permitting. I don’t like anything too tight around my belly for long periods of time. I discovered Amuse Society  on  Revolve Clothing and it has been my pregnancy go to brand. The clothing is pretty inexpensive. (Score!)  I have been able to find lots of great pieces that I can transition from pregnancy, to postpartum, and  (hopefully) back to my normal weight. The floral print is great for spring transition and I love the 70’s vibe. I threw on a leather jacket with it when it got a little chilly, but the back of this dress is so cute with it off.

I’ve been back on the grind after my getaway last week. It’s creeping up on ACM time, so I’ve been working with my bestie, Brit, on lots of fun styling projects and prepping for baby! Being pregnant and running around like a chicken with my head cut off equates to lots of comfy outfits. When I say I found my “sole mate” with these Tecovas boots, I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. They are handmade, and the craftsmanship is superior! (I was shocked at how great the price point was for such amazing quality!) Anyway, been rocking them a ton to add a little edge to my graphic tee uniform lately.
