Stroller (This converts to a double stroller and comes with a bassinet top as well.)

On Me: Jennifer Haley Leather Jacket | Sneakers | Plaid Shirt | Sunglasses Dupe (Under $100) | High-Rise Black Jeans (Under $100!) | V-Neck White T-Shirt ($20) | Scarf is One of a Kind Hermes

On Babies: Hux Baby | Georgie’s Jeans | Georgie’s sneakers

Fall fashion has always been my favorite and I love getting to add the boys’ into the mix. These sneakers were a huge splurge for me, but anytime I’m with the boys’ I’ve got them on. A leather jacket is a complete staple to layer up in the fall months. The detailing on this Jennifer Haley jacket is just so good. The sides have a lace up detailing and all the zippers have braided pulls. I paired it with my absolute go to plain t-shirt. It’s an under $20 find, and I have it in every color. (They just released it in a mustard color. So good!) The scarf is Hermes… Speaking of.

I’ve wanted an Hermes scarf for as long as I can remember. They can become heirloom pieces and are so luxurious and beautiful. They are currently having a pop up shop in Hill Center and Nashville, and IT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. They are dip dying vintage scarves in beautiful hues. This makes the fabric buttery soft. The whole pop up is done in the signature Hermes orange. (Even the washing machines.) They also have one of a kind designed scarves available for purchase. I loved the motif on this marigold one. (It even had a small tiger on it.) So happy it went home with me! I found a great affordable option in the same color HERE. (It’s $25!)

Now that the temps have cooled down we have been getting out and about with the boys’ a lot more. On Friday we went to a really fun event at the Fontanel here in Nashville. The Glow is there right now, and I highly recommend checking it out. They have over 5,000 hand carved jack o’ lanterns that are illuminated into various figures. Some are even done life size. (Georgie’s favorite were the motorcycles.) Others are done in public figures and cute themes. Nothing was too spooky, perfect to tag the babies along. They also had food trucks and drinks. The Glow experience will be happening again October 19-22 and then again on October 26-29.

Saturday some of my girlfriends came over for dinner and champagne. I met these girls during my NFL days cheering for the Rams and I love that we have stayed great friends since. You know you have a life long friend when you can pick right back up where you left off. (Even if it’s been forever since you’ve last caught up.) It’s great to have friends that understand it’s hard to get a babysitter, and are just as happing sipping champs in sweatpants on a Saturday. Bragging on my husband for sec… that man can cook! He made us an awesome meal. (And even did the grocery shopping for it.)

Sunday was another family fun day. We took the babes out to eat, grocery and target shopping and then took them to Toys R Us. Georgie’s face was priceless. He kept saying “wow.” He ran from each different section, and was so excited to find “Icky” AKA “Mickey.”

Hope everyone is having a great start to your week!

In honor of finding my favorite sweater ever I thought it would be fun to round up my 15 favorite sweaters for fall. I have many of these, and put sizing recommendations under each caption based on my experience.

There are so many ways to style all these sweaters. The great thing about a good knit is that they are typically all versatile enough to dress up or down. Pair them with distressed jeans and sneakers for day, and style them with a leather skirt and an over the knee boot for night.

Feel free to reach out to me via the CONTACT tab if you ever have questions on fit or just want to drop in and say hey! One of the best parts about blogging for me has been the community it creates.

On Me: Thermal Top | Black Jeans | Sneakers

On Georgie: Plaid Shirt | Jeans | Baby Nikes

On Wilder: Stripe Bodysuit

I know I’m #basic, but I love fall more than just about anything. The weather, the smells, the beginning of the holiday season, the pumpkin flavored everything. It’s all just so good. Best of all the weather is usually pretty great for the babies to get out and about. Perfect season to squeeze in lots of family fun!

I’ve been LIVING in this insanely comfy thermal with thumb holes. It comes in six other colors as well. Thinking I need to order the grey and wine colors too….

FALL FAMILY FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES

* If you are in Nashville or visiting you MUST check out Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. They have a beer garden complete with food trucks and pumpkin flavored beer, thousands of mums, a ton of pumpkins and even a pumpkin house. If you want a cute family photo opportunity. THIS. IS. THE. PLACE.

* Picnics. We are so lucky to have beautiful parks and playgrounds here in Tennessee. Pack a blanket and some finger foods and head out on a picnic. I’m planning to go on one with the boys when we get back from our trip.

* S’mores. All kids love s’mores. Have a little bon fire, invite some friends. My kind of night! I’ve been planning one with my sweet friend Vanessa and her baby and hubs!

* Hit up a pumpkin patch. We had so much fun letting Georgie pick out a pumpkin. He threw a lot of them before finding the perfect one, but it was pretty cute! A lot of the patches have tons of activities built in. Hay rides, hay slides, corn mazes, etc.

* Bake an apple pie and deliver it to someone in need. The perfect way to start instilling the importance of giving back early. G can only really stir at his age, but he enjoys feeling like he is helping.

* Another Nashville based activity: The Fontanel is having a fun Jack O’ Lantern experience. We plan to go and I will be sure to pass along more details soon. I know the installation will have a 1/3 mile walk of jack o’ lanterns, pumpkin pirate ships and pumpkin dinosaurs. It’s very family friendly, so nothing to spooky that would scare a young one.

* Eat dinner outside. Grilling is in full force at the Wilson household. It’s an easy way to eat healthy (throw on some veggies and a lean protein) and enjoy it on the porch!

* Do a charity 5k run or walk. This is the time of year for it! There are several breast cancer awareness walks this time of year. I plan to load the kids up in our new double stroller, and hit one up. (Most likely walking this one…)

* Decorate your front porch for fall. I love adding a fall wreath and some mums and pumpkins to the front porch. I am not a fan of the orange, so I like to find some in the white/grey colors. We will let G help pick it out, and plan to let him paint his first pumpkin!

* Go for a hike. I’m hoping that Trey and I can each load a baby up in a baby carrier and head out for a hike. We use to love Cummins falls which is near Nashville. That one might be a little aggressive with the boys, but there are so many great options out there!

If you invest in one piece for fall/winter I highly suggest a leather jacket. I get the most use out of my leather jackets. They never go out of style and can carry with you year after year. I love the moto cut of this Rebecca Minkoff version. It’s been on major repeat! It’s got a clean look, but with just a teeny bit of edge.

As eager as I am for fall to arrive, Tennessee isn’t quite cooperating just yet. I paired the jacket with this blouse and a camo skirt. The other day I wore this camo skirt with a graphic sweatshirt and sneakers to run errands. It’s a really easy to throw on, versatile piece. Once the temperatures start moving on down, I will pair this jacket with a sweater, some jeans and some over the knee boots. My all time favorite look.

We had the best family day yesterday. Wilder and I grabbed a coffee with a friend and took a few pictures. Then we took Georgie to pick out a pumpkin. He was more interested in throwing the pumpkins, but he had a great time. Then we went to lunch at a little spot in 12th south. It mimics a ski lounge and has a really cool fire pit in the center. G loved it! It made me extra excited for Trey and I’s getaway to our “happy place” (AKA Colorado) next weekend.

October gives me all the feels, from the fashion to the weather, the smells in the air. I just love it all. Top that off with lots of family QT and I am one happy lady!

P.S. I’ve got something really BIG to share with ya’ll this coming week, so make sure to stay tuned. I mean… really BIG!

“Hey Wanderer is a call to those who are dreamers, thinkers, adventurers and believers. It’s a call to be better. We are all wanderers. Hey Wanderer is asking you not to settle, not to compromise, and to accept the struggle.”

A couple of nights ago the sweet girls of Hey Wanderer hosted a dreamy boho get together with like minded Nashville women in their backyard. (PS.. you can AIRBNB this place and I HIGHLY recommend it. They call it McGavock Manor. You are welcome.)

I first heard about these girls via their kimonos that they hand craft here in Nashville. Now they have a blog and it’s good. I mean really, really good. They give me so much DIY and boho inspiration it’s unbelievable. I highly recommend following along with their journey.

Anyway, they stand for something (the quote above) and ya’ll probably know by now that I admire that more than just about anything. They curated a group of women for some bites and cocktails to mix, mingle, inspire and conspire.

It was so great to have some time to hang with friends, and make some new ones.

One thing I just love about Nashville is that it is a city full of dreamers and creators. In other places in my life I was told to “get real” and that I needed to follow a strict pattern in life with a safety net. Here I feel like it is accepted and almost expected to reach for your dreams and goals, and live a little off the beaten path. I dig that. I fit in here.

The boho decor inspiration was OUT.OF.THIS.WORLD. Apple & Oak provided the cute set up with the peacock chair and vintage rugs, which made the cutest photo opportunity. Casey found the amazing macrame chandelier for $45 at a flea market in Indiana. Since we aren’t all so lucky to stumble upon perfect little pieces like that, I searched for some boho decor for ya’ll. Some of these are the exact pieces they used, and some are similar to the vibe.

Luxe Fall Fashion: Dusters & Embellished Booties

Luxe Fall Fashion Trends:

Duster Jacket | Embellished Booties | Jeans | Tie Front Blouse | Lion Ring | Handbag | Bracelets: Cadyn & Charlie

Well today was quite the manic Monday. We were out of baby essentials so I had to make a Target run with both boys in tow. All started out well and I was feeling proud of myself for getting both babes fed, diapered, dressed, bottles packed, and both in car seats. So proud in fact that when I first walked in I awarded myself a Starbucks.

Then the meltdowns began. It started with Wilder crying and he was inconsolable. (He is colic so nothing new there…) Then Georgie decided to have the meltdown of all meltdowns. Thrashing, screaming, throwing his shoes off, etc. Two sweet ladies even came up to me and offered to help. I practically ran to get two quick items and high tailed it out of there.

After I loaded G into the car and put his TV on to calm him down I realized someone had parked so close to me I physically couldn’t open the door wide enough to get Wilder’s car seat in. I tried from the passenger side front, but that wouldn’t fit either. G’s carseat blocked the way from the back passenger side. I had no choice but to load both babies back up and head back inside. They had to make an announcement of the license plate number over the intercom. Then I had to wait for them to re-park and re-load them back in.

With that being said I try my best to be a glass half full kind of person SO the good news is this duster jacket is back in stock! It’s one of my favorite staple pieces in my closet. It’s so cozy and feels like wearing a robe. Another luxe fall fashion trend I’m adoring are embellished booties. I’m loving THESE because they are neutral enough to still go with everything and the block heel makes them wearable for everyday.

Yay for Friday! This Friday is extra special because Trey’s entire family is coming into town. The Nashville Food & Wine festival is this weekend and it has become a tradition over the past few years for us all to go together. It’s one of my favorite weekends of the year, and I’ve greatly been looking forward to it!

Call me superficial, but I love my designer pieces. However, I also love a good deal!Saving money on designer pieces always feels so much better. I get a lot of my higher end pieces from Nordstrom. One hack I have for getting designer pieces at a much better deal, is finding a boys size 12 (it fits the same way as a womens’ small). The same look for much cheaper! This Gucci Logo T-Shirt has been on my wish list for a long time, but it carries a pretty hefty price tag. The boy version is $300 less, and looks identical!

This burberry zip up hoodie is another great find to get a staple designer piece for less. (Maybe I should order G a matching one too!) The classic check burberry pocket shirt is another easy way to add a designer item to your wardrobe for under $100. I also plan to add this Gucci Sweatshirt to the collection.

It’s so easy to throw a super cozy cardigan over a designer tee shirt with some jeans and my favorite snakeskin slide mules. I’ve been getting lots of questions on these shoes via Instagram. Size up a half size! They run small. They are so easy to throw on and go, and I just love the grommet detailing on the sides. I get so many compliments on them! One of my favorite purchases I’ve made in a long time.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I will be sure to share our Food & Wine festival pictures soon. If you are a Nashvillian, come check it out!

Kitty Boutique

One of my favorite Nashville boutiques is Kitty in East Nashville, and now you can shop it online! If you are a Nashvillian you must go check it out, and if you are visiting it’s a must stop spot as well. The owner, Sarah, is a friend of mine and a truly badass babe. She’s all about empowering other women and being a hard working, goal diggin’ woman.

This adorable boutique has a curated selection of boho pieces with an edgy vibe. (AKA Right up my alley…)

Kitty was named after Kitty Wells who was the first female to score a number 1 on the country charts, against much opposition. Kitty boutique is all about continuing that sentiment today through renaissance women who live outside of the box and according to their own rules.

With this motto in mind, I started thinking about what makes me feel empowered as a woman. First and foremost being a stay at home mother that also juggles entrepreneurship, being a good wife and friend, and keeping up with the home (well..sort of on that last one.) Secondly, being confident enough to empower other women, in turn makes me feel empowered.

There is something about tearing down the walls of competition and jealousy and in turn building up other women that feels good and makes me feel empowered myself. I’ve learned that if you don’t TRULY want the best for your friends then you aren’t friends at all. You need to feel confident enough in your own skin so that you can pump positivity into those around you. I hope that all of my friends reach their goals. Even if that means they reach one that I may want as well. THAT’S OK! Someone else’s success should never determine how you view your own successes. There is room for everyone to have happiness and success, and everyone deserves that very sentiment.

Raw Edge Hem Jeans | Suede Moto Jacket | Snakeskin Mules | Guns N Roses Sweatshirt | Same Branf sweatshirt- Rolling Stones Version

It’s the weekend!! This was a rough week with the boys so it couldn’t come soon enough! My mom and sister are coming into town to help, and I can’t wait. A good friend of mine is getting married this weekend so it will be a fun date night for Trey and I. We also have season tickets to the Titans and are planning on going to the home opener on Sunday.

In between the festivities, I’ll be running errands in this weekend casual outfit. The fall weather has finally arrived and I couldn’t be happier about it. Nothing beats a cozy sweatshirt. I like to add this suede moto jacket to any fall casual look. These jeans were a Nordstrom sale steal and are extremely comfortable. The snakeskin mules are one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. So easy to throw on, and the snakeskin acts as a neutral with a punch. (I did go up a half size…)

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I’ll be thinking about the hurricane victims, and everyone that must evacuate.

An Open Letter To My Son

I thought it would be fun to take coordinating mommy and me pictures with G and write an open “letter to my son”…

I like to think that this blog will one day be a journal stamped in time that I can go and reminisce on, and even one day my sons can do the same. Not to long ago I saw a fellow blogger say that she writes letters to her children on each birthday. She keeps the letters and will one day let them read them. Such a precious idea that I plan to borrow, but I wanted to go ahead and write one for G now. He’s in such a sweet stage and I want to remember all the little idiosyncrasies he has. So I thought I would share this letter to my son…

Dear Georgie-

There isn’t a thing in this world that makes my heart happier than hearing your sweet giggle. Right now you are a little giggle box, and it’s a sound I want to freeze in time. I know one day it will go away, and that will be the saddest day for me.

We thought you would be so jealous when Wilder came into our family, but you proved us wrong. The innate love and protective nature you have over him might just be the sweetest part about you. You are so proud to show him off to any new visitors; grabbing their hand and dragging them to him. When he cries you bring him a blanket or a pacifier, or even the remote control. Hey, what man doesn’t want control over the remote?!

You love food. (You get that honestly…) Currently you are a bottomless pit. You take your whole hand and shove as much as you can into your little mouth. I’ve yet to find anything you don’t like. Guacamole and meatballs are the current favorite. I wish it were socially acceptable for me to pick up the bowl of guac and lick the bottom like you do. If it were, I would sure join you. You and I are the same like that.

You are curious and adventurous. Your battery operated 4-wheeler can’t go fast enough. You can’t rock your rocking motorcycle (thanks to grandad for that one) hard enough. The look in your eye when you get your mind on something is mischievous, but in the sweetest possible way. With that curious spirit you aren’t afraid to climb up hills, jump off couches, slide down stairs or eat some dirt. However, you are terrified of anything in costume and even some stuffed animals. I secretly love when you are scared of something and run to me and cling to me. I hope I can always be the open arms you run to for protection.

“Da-Da” is by far your favorite word. Ya’ll are the best of friends. He can’t walk out of the room without me hearing the pitter patter of your feet chasing him down. As much as I want you to be a mamas boy, I love watching the special bond ya’ll have. Seeing your daddy like that makes me love him even more!

You’ve never met a puppy you didn’t like. It’s so sweet seeing how big your eyes get when you hear a bark. Then you will point and repeatedly say “pa-pa-pa” and try to find the puppy to snuggle him.

There is never a stranger in your eyes. You wave to every person, car, puppy, and plane that goes by. You might be stingy with real kisses, but you can blow kisses with the best of them. When you do finally give in to giving me a kiss, it is only done for the applause. That sweet little clap is my favorite.

I love watching you grow, but I sure wish you would slow down. Love you sweet boy!

Xo,

MAMA (P.S. You still refuse to say mama, my heart might melt right away when you finally give in and say it…)
