Lace Bell Sleeve Dress | Booties

After a wonderful mountain trip with my husband’s family, I’m back in sunny Nashville and prepping for my family to come down for Easter. I found this beautiful blue dress to wear for Easter Sunday, and I just love it! Revolve Clothing for the win, again! It’s currently on sale for under $70 in the blue color. It also comes in blush and wine. I ordered a size small, (I’m normally an XS when not pregnant in this brand) and it managed to fit over my 8 month baby bump. It’s shift style so it should work post baby too. (I always try to find things I can wear post baby as well.)

We had such an amazing trip in Colorado. We had a big house with plenty of room for us all to stay under the same roof, and cook dinners on our own some nights too. I did miss partaking in the skiing, hot tubing, and wine drinking that I would normally enjoy not pregnant. However, it was great R&R. I always say I like breathing in the air up there. It’s just so clean and there’s something majestic in the mountains. Tip for any pregnant ladies traveling to high altitudes….drink PLENTY of water!

Getting back from Denver after they had the biggest blizzard in 10 years proved to be a bit of a challenge, but after several hours and delays we made it back to sunny Nashville.

I’ll be prepping for my parents arrival and working on some baby prep. (Time is really ticking these days!) Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and gets to spend some QT with their loved ones.

Soleil Toujours- All natural sunscreen & Skin Care

Shimmer body oil | SPF 45 Sunscreen

One thing I think most people forget when they are heading out on a mountain vacation is sunscreen! You think of it when you head to the beach, but not to the mountains. The light reflecting off of the snow is quite bright and it’s vital to take care of your skin. I used to be the worst about skin care, so I really feel like I need to be on top of it these days! Barney’s carries an organic mineral based sunscreen line that I absolutely love! I prepped for my mountain trip with their exotic shimmer body oil to give myself a healthy bronze for all my vaca pictures, and have my skin moisturized and soft. MOST important I packed the SPF 45 sunscreen to protect myself from sun damage. I’m so excited to spend some time with my husband’s family in Colorado and get lots of R&R before the baby comes. They will all be skiing up a storm, so I plan to spa, shop, and just breathe in the mountain air. Lots of pictures to come!

Printed Jogger | Leather Sneaker | Similar Leather Jacket

This has been quite the busy week for this ole pregnant lady! Had so much fun doing the wardrobe for Drake White’s new music video, Livin’ the Dream, and started ACM fittings for some lovely ladies. Amuse Society has been my saving grace for comfortable clothing I can wear during pregnancy,, but also re-wear after. These printed jogger pants are so comfortable for these long days I’ve been having. Today, I’m bumpin’ right along to my friend and fellow blogger, Mallory Ervin’s event at H Audrey. She’s showcasing the new spring Jennifer Haley bags. I’m so excited to check them all out! Ya’ll will love them! Trey and I went to our baby doc appointment yesterday. They started measuring our little one, and it seems time is flying by faster than ever before!

Boho Baby Shower

Boho Shower Invite

I had the absolute best weekend celebrating our sweet new baby, at a boho themed baby shower, thrown by my parents, sister, and childhood best friend. It was so emotional to see all the love for baby W and get showered with baby goodies from our family and friends. Revolve Clothing did it again and I was able to find the perfect shower dress. The dress comes in one size and is the perfect material and cut for before and after baby. I’ve noticed this dress has since sold out in this print. However, you can find the same dress in a different print here. AND the same print in a romper version, here.

My crafty parents made all of the centerpieces and the backdrop, including chopping down all the wood for the cake stand and centerpieces. The place settings all had mason jars with a burlap ribbon and birch straws. They didn’t leave out a single detail!

Baby W got so many amazing gifts! After spending a ton of time researching online and asking my mama friends, we registered for the 4moms Bouncer. I was so excited opening it, and we loved setting it up and playing with it. It has so many features! It can even be controlled from your phone.

We were really just so overwhelmed by all the love and support we felt this weekend. After the shower, my aunts, uncles and cousins came over to my parents house and they all gave us plenty of advice and even threw some bets in on the baby’s actual arrival date. So much fun!

Hope everyone has an amazing week!

Hope everyone is having an awesome week so. It’s really flown by for me! One of my favorite hats I wear, is stylist. March is always a busy time for this! With ACM’s the first weekend of April, I’ve been working on finding some extra special threads for the artists Brit and I will be styling for the red carpet. In addition, we are shooting a music video for Drake White’s new single, “Livin the Dream.” We have been running around town looking for some perfect boho pieces for the shoot. (I’ll make sure to get some good behind the scene shots for ya’ll!)

On top of styling, I’ve been in full on nesting mode! With the baby shower coming up this weekend, I needed to organize and clear out the nursery closet and make room for Baby W’s sweet new things. Any other (not normally overly organized) mamas out there that can’t stop finding organization projects?! Something about it seems to help my baby anxiety.

AND.. on top of all that I’ve been heading to my doctor’s office more than normal. I didn’t pass the first diabetes test, so I had to go back for the long version of the test.  You fast, drink a horrible glucose drink, and then have blood drawn every hour, on the hour, for 4 hours. Not pleasant. Lucky for me, Trey was able to come with me and keep me company. It gave me some time to catch up on my baby books too.

With all the craziness going on, I’ve been rocking comfy dresses and booties, whenever the weather is permitting. I don’t like anything too tight around my belly for long periods of time. I discovered Amuse Society  on  Revolve Clothing and it has been my pregnancy go to brand. The clothing is pretty inexpensive. (Score!)  I have been able to find lots of great pieces that I can transition from pregnancy, to postpartum, and  (hopefully) back to my normal weight. The floral print is great for spring transition and I love the 70’s vibe. I threw on a leather jacket with it when it got a little chilly, but the back of this dress is so cute with it off.

I have been in full on “nesting” mode here lately. My mom, sister, and childhood best friend are graciously throwing me a shower this coming weekend, so I wanted to make sure everything was ready to prep before we head up to St.Louis for that! This Blue suede jacket was love at first sight!  It’s the perfect piece to brighten up the winter wardrobe and transition into spring. It made it easy to throw on and head out to run errands with Trey. SHOPBOP is having their BIG tier sale, perfect time to scoop up this jacket and save a few bucks on it. 😉  Most of the weekend was spent organizing, grocery shopping, and searching for baby gear. Luckily, our Nordstrom has a great baby section! We were even able to stop in at a 4D ultrasound clinic to check in with our little guy. It really puts things in perspective when I’m feeling all of the typical third trimester uncomfortable feels. Hope everyone had a happy weekend!

Third trimester is finally here!

I’ve finally hit my third trimester! I promise you.. when you feel like I have up until now, it’s something to celebrate! Looking back on my second trimester there were a few standout things that I just wasn’t expecting! First, my bump came out of nowhere one morning. I was a late bloomer to the bump club, but I swear I just woke up one morning and it was there! It was the strangest thing. Being pretty naive to all things pregnancy, I did not realize it would also have a mind of it’s own. This thing changes everyday. Sometimes it feels manageable and other days it just feels large and in charge. Some days I look like I am “carrying low” and other days it looks like I am “carrying high.” My sweet babe, also has a mind (and schedule) of his own. Some days he truly feels like he is kickboxing on my ribcage, non stop. Then there are other times, where it feels like the “butterflies” I was expecting it to feel like.

I did have much more energy in the second trimester. (Thank goodness!)  Thanks to said energy, I’ve done lots of “nesting” around our house. Not sure how productive it actually is, but I spent lots of time organizing different spaces. Sometimes it’s more of a game of musical chairs. Objects from one area end up in a different area, until I clean that area and then they just get shuffled around yet again. Keeping busy seems to help with my anxiousness of the baby arriving. So, hey, whatever works.

Actual pants, are kind of a thing of the past. I wear a few pairs if I know I’m not going to be out too long. If not, leggings or dresses it is. I loved this one because it is light and silky and allows room for that ever changing baby bump. It’s all about the comfort as I step into the home strech!

I’ve been back on the grind after my getaway last week. It’s creeping up on ACM time, so I’ve been working with my bestie, Brit, on lots of fun styling projects and prepping for baby! Being pregnant and running around like a chicken with my head cut off equates to lots of comfy outfits. When I say I found my “sole mate” with these Tecovas boots, I’m not exaggerating in the slightest. They are handmade, and the craftsmanship is superior! (I was shocked at how great the price point was for such amazing quality!) Anyway, been rocking them a ton to add a little edge to my graphic tee uniform lately.

Date night hair & make up tutorial

unnamed-6Happy Valentine’s day weekend, loves! I’ve partnered with my girl, Katie of Beauty by K2, to bring you an easy, but sexy, date night hair and make up look. Katie did these pin curls for me for the CMA Awards and I received so many compliments, I wanted to share how to achieve that look with ya’ll!

Pin Curls 101!

  1. Step 1: Prep & Supplies. You will need:a TON of duckbill clips which can be purchased at Walgreens.
  2. Apply a heat protectant throughout your hair– I used Kerabalm, which can be purchased at Ulta.
  3. Step 2: Section the Hair and part the hair to your liking, then spray each section with hairspray (I used Sebastion. )
  4. Step 3: Begin curling your hair with a 1 inch curling iron to form Your First Pin Curl.
  5. When you remove the curling iron, leave the curl as close to the scalp as possible and place with a duckbill clip.
  6. Step 4: Continue Pin Curling. …
  7. Step 5: Spray the all over, wait 10 minutes before removing the clips, & you are done!

Katie’s Instructions for Valentine Date Make-Up

For the eyes: I prepped the eye with Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion in “Minor Sin”

I wanted to incorporate a Valentine themed eye, so for the lids I used many colors from my MAC X15 Palette in “Warm Neutral”:

To highlight the brow, I used the color “Brule”

For the crease I used “Creative Copper” and “Honey Lust”

For the lids, I used “Ginger Snap” and “Dark Brew”

For the face: I wanted to make Ashley’s skin look as glowing as it’s ever looked, therefore I used Stila’s Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Illuminator

I have been obsessed with MAC’s Studio Conceal and Correct Duo, I used this to conceal under Ashley’s eyes

I used Makeup forever High Def powder to set Ashley’s foundation

I used MAC prep + prime for Ashleys lips before applying her Sephora longwear lipgloss (Infinite Rose)

Whether you have a romantic night out (or in) with your significant other, or a fun time with your girls;  I hope everyone feels lots of love!

Beach Bumpin’

One of the band’s my husband manages heads out every year on a cruise. They play some shows on the boat and everyone brings their family, as a big band family reunion. This year they partnered with Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country for the Outlaw Country cruise. Being pregnant it was a little tamer then the past ships we’ve sailed away on, but it was great to see everyone and get some R&R none the less! We came back to snow on the ground in Nashville, which really makes me appreciate the sunshine I was able to soak up in Grand Cayman. We had a quick turn around time on our flight back, so I packed everything into a carry on. Pretty proud of myself for that one! I have learned over time to keep it simple when packing. Especially when heading somewhere warm! I found this longhorn swimsuit and absolutely had to have it! I swear by scarves as cover ups. They are light and don’t take up much room while packing, and you can get creative and tie them up many ways. Theodora & Callum has always been my go to for their amazing prints! I’m sure ready for sunshine after that. Who’s with me?!
